Without a continuous supply of oxygen and glucose, brain cells can begin to die within minutes.

Waste Removal: Blood also plays a crucial role in removing waste products from the brain. Metabolic processes in the brain produce waste products such as carbon dioxide and other toxins. The blood carries these away from the brain to other parts of the body for disposal. Without a continuous blood supply, these waste products would accumulate, leading to toxicity and damage to brain cells.
