Solution

The Excel function used to combine text from different cells into one cell is the CONCATENATE function or the "&" operator. Here are the steps to use both:

  1. CONCATENATE Function:

    • Click on the cell where you want the combined text to appear.
    • Type =CONCATENATE( into that cell.
    • Click on the first cell you want to combine, then type a comma.
    • Click on the second cell you want to combine.
    • Close the formula with a parenthesis ) and press Enter.
  2. "&" Operator:

    • Click on the cell where you want the combined text to appear.
    • Type = into that cell.
    • Click on the first cell you want to combine, then type &.
    • Click on the second cell you want to combine.
    • Press Enter.

Note: In newer versions of Excel, CONCATENATE function has been replaced with the CONCAT function, but CONCATENATE is still available for backward compatibility.
