Weberian Theory of Social Change:

Max Weber, a German sociologist, proposed a theory of social change that is multidimensional in nature. According to Weber, social change is driven by a variety of factors, not just economic ones. He emphasized the importance of ideas, beliefs, and values in shaping society. Weber's most famous work, "The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism," argues that the religious ideas of Protestantism, particularly Calvinism, played a significant role in the development of capitalism. Weber also highlighted the role of charismatic leaders and bureaucracy in social change.

Marxian Theory of Social Change:

Karl Marx, on the other hand, proposed a more economically focused theory of social change. Marx believed that social change is driven primarily by economic factors, specifically the conflicts between different social classes. According to Marx, society is divided into two main classes: the bourgeoisie, or the capitalist class who owns the means of production, and the proletariat, or the working class who sells their labor to the bourgeoisie. Marx argued that the exploitation of the proletariat by the bourgeoisie would eventually lead to a revolution, resulting in the overthrow of capitalism and the establishment of a communist society where the means of production are owned collectively.
