Solution

  1. Open the table that contains the StaffID field in Design View. You can do this by right-clicking on the table in the Navigation Pane and selecting "Design View".

  2. In the design grid, click on the row for the StaffID field to select it.

  3. In the Field Properties section at the bottom of the screen, click on the "General" tab if it's not already selected.

  4. Find the "Field Size" property. It's usually the second property listed under the "General" tab.

  5. Click in the "Field Size" box, delete the current value, and type "7".

  6. Save your changes by clicking on the "Save" icon in the Quick Access Toolbar at the top of the screen, or by pressing Ctrl + S on your keyboard.

  7. Close the table design view by clicking on the "Close" icon in the upper right corner of the screen, or by pressing Ctrl + W on your keyboard.
