Describe any three characteristics of 'Union List' mentioned in the Indian Constitution

Exclusive Powers to Central Government: The Union List in the Indian Constitution consists of subjects on which only the central government can make laws. These subjects are of national importance and require uniformity of legislation nationwide. Examples include defense, atomic energy, and railways.

Predominance over State List: In case of any conflict between the Union List and the State List, the Union List prevails. This means that if both the central and state governments pass laws on the same subject in the Union List, the law made by the central government will be considered valid.
