Solution

Saltwater and freshwater are two types of water bodies that can be found in various places on Earth.

  1. Saltwater: The most common place where you can find saltwater is in the oceans and seas. This includes the Atlantic Ocean, Pacific Ocean, Indian Ocean, Arctic Ocean, and Southern Ocean, as well as smaller seas like the Mediterranean Sea, the Red Sea, and the Caribbean Sea. Saltwater can also be found in salt pans (areas where saltwater evaporates and leaves behind salt deposits) and in underground aquifers near the coast where seawater has infiltrated.

  2. Freshwater: Freshwater is typically found in lakes, rivers, and streams. This includes famous bodies of water like the Great Lakes in North America, the Amazon River in South America, and the Nile River in Africa. Freshwater is also found in underground aquifers, which can be accessed through wells, and in glaciers and ice caps in the polar regions of the Earth. In addition, freshwater can be found in man-made reservoirs and in smaller bodies of water like ponds.

It's important to note that there are also bodies of water called brackish water bodies that contain a mixture of saltwater and freshwater. These are typically found in estuaries where rivers meet the sea.
