It is just the most awesome school ever. I don't know what makes it more swell - the arrogant, condescending professors and the bizarre making system, or the fact that they don't teach technique. Or maybe it's because you will never get any credit from any other institution. Just sign right up.

Having a rough go financially right now. Hope they are able to pick it up. Cafeteria needs a makeover and a new supply for food. But all faculty is so supportive, full of opportunities.

Location of the school is great, right by ctrain and parking lot that almost always has spots. The school itself doesn't have a ton of food options which makes sense for such a small school but it is walking distance from SAIT and AUArts students are free to use their campus for food, bookstore, gym, etc. The profs are usually great too except AHIS

AuArts is a HORRIBLE institution. You will never learn how to properly draw here, you teach yourself. Terrible campus & awful community. I have encountered many racist students and teachers. The admin, student advisors, and program guides provide incorrect info and can delay your graduation timeline. Stay away if you value your time and money!!!!!!

Extremely disappointed in this university, made me lose my Student exchange Opportunity. There are a handful of great professors but the rest are just racist white middle age men that are just there for the paycheck, you will be lucky if you survive first year because they love to discourage you while not providing any feedback.Go to Vancouver trust

While there are some good instructors, they are not easy to come by. Also, if you ever struggle with finances and/or mental health you’ll most likely be left on your own.
If I could, I’d write much more. Just don’t waste your time and hard-earned money on this place, you deserve better and there are much better places out there!
Overall 1.5
This university will not remotely prepare you for what a career in the industry will entail. By your fourth year you'll feel woefully unprepared to face the professional world and the curriculum does not care. Most of what it's teaching you is banal and out of date. Career killer and motivation drainer.
Overall 1.5
Not recommended for the serious student. Faculty have little to no industry experience or understanding of industry expectations, techniques, or processes. Constant infighting and turf wars over shrinking budgets turned everyone into a loser. Animosity between fine art and design created confusion. Better off finding instruction online.
Overall 1.5
There is very little opportunity for artists who are not extremely conceptual, I advice looking elsewhere for an art education if you truly want to make a career out of art, and not just make crap that you need to justify with BS. There are a handful of knowledgeable teachers, but overall, the instructors are unable to actually teach anything.
Overall 1.6
An okay school. There seems to be a lack of organization and direction in some degrees. I find that a lot of the classes are unhelpful and too many professors have poor teaching skills.
