Alfred is an incredible place to study art, especially if you have academic interests. All of the schools and colleges are open to art students, however, the art school is only open to art students so you're able to study art at the highest level (academic students can take the art classes taught by grad students).

Definitely more than I expected especially for the cost of tuition. The Art school is world-renowned.

I LOVE AU! It's beautiful and the people are great. Weird, but great.

This is a community, not a college. Expect to be immersed into clubs. Perfect sized campus in an absolutely gorgeous piece of Upstate NY. I will forever know that the best years of my life were spent here.

The worst campus ever , old classes and poor quality of education . If you drive , you would spend your money on tickets

The food sucks, good professors are hard to find, and the dorms are horrible and old.

There is nothing good about this school.

If you are a design or engineering student fine. Liberal arts -- you are second class. All liberal arts classes, like english and history, will be geered toward design and engineering students. You will have to research photography and use excell to do classwork. Go elseshere.

people have been getting stabbed recently, the wifi never works, the food isn’t good (i’ve gotten food poisoning twice) and the professors are 50/50.

This school was a major disappointment. After sophomore year, I finally transferred out to UAlbany, where I am much happier. Alfred University has awful food choices, hardly any social events (and the ones that they do have, nobody shows up to), my advisors messed up my schedule and the administration really doesnt care about you.

This school after one month was the first college experience I did not enjoy since my two years going. It seemed to be extremely pop and if you liked to learn more there was reticence from peers and professors. It reminded me of a high school reuinion sort of place. Very few people over the age of 25 for role models. Some profs shut doors too.

Foundations: Teachers assigned projects at any hour of day or night. I got an assignment during another class period and was told by art professor to "prioritize" (miss other classes). Teachers threw out finished works saying"dont get to personal" teachers were unaccomodating/ told me to quit sports. Had very little advising 1st year

If you like a small town school where you'll know a lot of the students this school is for you. In terms of clubs and activities they don't do a whole lot and I got bored pretty quickly with the classes. None of the professors seemed to care much about your welfare in their classes
