I like this college!

Bachelor of Hospitality and Tourism is unparalleled. LOTS of career opportunities and the facilities are amazing (bar and kitchen labs, on the job restaurant mgmt and event planning). The profs have all been in the game before and are a key network. The reputation of the school is what it is, but the program exceeds all standards.
Overall 4.5
Algonquin College is the most underrated school in Ottawa. Its on the level of OttawaU and Carleton and is really fun when you meet the right homies. Lots of good people here :)

I love it here, but getting here is really bad. It's so far out. Really needs an O-Train line going to it.

Nice place to study, lots of opportunities to thrive.

Algonquin is a C rate college at best. It's students are mostly international. This isn't a problem in itself, however, on group projects they lack an understanding of proficient English required. Faculty, professors, students are too passive in their approach to communication/conflict management. They truly lack a good due diligent attitude.

Never enough supplies in the labs, super cheap college. Very apathetic faculty. Overall terrible experience
Overall 1.2
Boasts state of the art equipment & facilities. Where are they. In 2 years I couldn't find them. No quiet space to study, Old buildings look like good locations to film an 1950's horror film but not to support learning. The internet is a joke. I can't get phone access in the buildings. I go outside. spend some money on infrastructure.
Overall 1.3
It seems like Algonquin College can be hit or miss depending on the program. I am in computers and the program is outdated and complacent. You are pretty much on your own for coop. Teachers are hit or miss, more often miss in my experience. They want us to return to school mid-pandemic. We were told "those are the risks they are willing to accept".
Overall 1.3
I would not recommend this school to anyone. So unorganized and unhelpful.
Overall 1.5
I studied graphic design here and before that I took a general arts and design class which they dont have anymore because it probably wasnt good. The graphic design program here is very OUTDATED. I honestly I learned more things off the internet than in class. Profs and program coordinator dont care about the students and are not helpfu.
Overall 1.6
Undoubtedly the most chaotic school Ive ever attended. Half of their programs should be cut. How they dealt with Covid is shameful. Clubs? Good luck finding them. Social activities before Covid shut everything down? Barely advertised and had next to no funding. The gym was ATROCIOUS and the prices were even more embarrassing.

I have been at Algonquin College for 5 years now through 2 degrees and this is what i have noticed over my time. The Teachers almost always give less about the courses then you do which makes it even worse, Both Courses i graduated from have Teachers with either less knowledge or less understanding of their Course material then most of the students

Any program tech/computer related is extremely outdated, you always end up learning more just figuring things out yourself, especially in an online atmosphere. Some courses expect you to have previous experience, while the teachers says figure it out . If your teacher is really bad have fun getting AC to do anything about it.
