This school charges way more than they're worth. In fact, they charge about three times what they're worth as a professional acting school. If you want to learn method acting, go to the Strsberg Institute. (The problem with AADA is that they hire inferior teachers, but charge even more than the best schools. Don't waste your money here.
Overall 1.1
If the American Academy of Dramatic Arts accepts someone as a student, they should bear the responsibility of training them for the full 2 or 3-year program. The invitation-only environment school induces stress on students at the end of the 1st year. The fly-by-night teachers who are usually gone by the end of the year. Too expensive. Run!
Overall 1.3
AADA is a total rip-off. BEWARE! It's incredibly expensive, but the teachers are the weakest I've ever seen! They have a DANCER who NEVER acted teaching first year acting! She's as mean as a snake & knows nothing! So you're stuck in her class for three hours a day, paying big bucks and getting zip for it.I got back in, but am not returning.
Overall 1.4
This school is very unimpressing, they spend more time trying to get students than to teach them. Then after that they crush your dignity and take your money, and blame you. The administration is unorganized, and most of the teachers make you feel horrible saying its tough love.
Overall 1.4
The teachers are not very good. One of the 'big' acting teachers used to be a dancer but NEVER ACTED! Everyone expects this school to be a big deal- because of the name of it and it's history of having big names here. That was a long time ago though, and things have changed a lot. The 'second year by invitation' creates HUGE stress! Disappointing!
