Student and Staff Numbers
- Students: The total number of active students enrolled at American Public University System is approximately 87,871 as of June 30, 2023
- Undergraduates: Approximately 38,500 undergraduate students are enrolled at American Public University System
- Postgraduates: The exact number of postgraduate students enrolled at American Public University System is not provided in the sources. However, the system offers a significant number of graduate programs, and the total enrollment includes both undergraduate and graduate students. The total enrollment at APUS is approximately 48,668 students, with 3,736 full-time and 44,932 part-time students. Without specific data on the distribution between undergraduate and graduate students, it is difficult to provide an exact number for postgraduate students. Therefore, I can only give an approximate range based on the total enrollment and the general proportion of graduate students in online universities. However, without precise data, this remains an estimate. **Approximate Range: 10,000 - 20,000** (assuming a significant portion of the total enrollment are graduate students)
- Academic Staff: The number of academic staff at American Public University System is approximately 1,673 faculty members
- Administrative Staff: The American Public University System (APUS) employs approximately 1,750 full-time and 1,800 part-time faculty members, but it does not provide a specific number for administrative staff. Therefore, an exact number is not available. However, if we consider the administrative roles listed in the sources, it is reasonable to estimate that the total number of administrative staff could be in the range of 500 to 1,000, but this is an approximation and not a precise figure. For a more accurate count, detailed administrative staffing data would be needed, which is not provided in the available sources

It is an online school, but I have been very happy with the education I have received. Most of the professors are great I can honestly say I have only had one professor that was HORRIBLE and would not take again. Overall it is cost effective and the assignments are reasonable. I have suggested this program to many. .

I turned down full-ride scholarships to Harvard and Yale for American Public University System because everyone knows people in the military are the smartest bunch and have the best personalities and I wanted to surround myself with them. Best choice I have ever made!

APUS is the best thing that ever happened to me. They have always taken good care of me as a student and all their staff handle any and all sit with promise and grace.

Great school

I think they have some of the best faculty members that would assist their students and pour encouragement into their learning experience and guide their students to the point they want to strive to go. I think it is one of the best institutions for service members active of prior service.

Affordable, high quality education.

AMU/APUS is all online, and super convenient. Classes begin every month, which allows flexibility. Professors are super understanding, and tailor to the military. I love it!

APUS (AMU/APU) has been an amazing University to attend. I have had the pleasure of having some fantastic and knowledgeable professors. I would recommend APUS to any person interested in attending a well-known and highly recognized University.

Easy degree. Just make sure you pay on time. For those looking for a quick path to a four year, this is the way to go. Great for working adults that dont have a lot of time to spend on school work.
Overall 5
I love the online year round environment which is inexpensive, flexible schedule and no cost for books.

Think of how much trouble people have doing anything with a degree from a more prestigious university. Now think of how difficult it will be to do anything with a degree from this place, one of the most non-prestigious universities out there. Don't waste your time or money here.

As a Service member, I thought having "Military" in the name they would care about service members; that could not be further from the truth. Most instructors do not care about your situation. I am many time zones away from West Virginia and the Eastern Time Zone. They do not give any help for students who work full time for the military.

Think of how stupid the average person in the military is. These are your classmates.

AMU is a terrible college

useless

Tried the school out for a semester due to a friend's recommendation. Left due to an employer's forewarning on the worth of the degree. It's a for-profit online school with no SAT or GRE score's needed, so everyone is accepted. Really just two steps shy of a diploma mill.

This college is terrible and If I were to do online school over, I would choose any other online college.

It took me just a few weeks to figure AMU out. A few other people on the ship were going here so I thought Id give it a shot. Mostly, it just reeks of a polished up for-profit diploma mill geared towards the military. Im now pursuing a more reputable degree starting at the local community college.

Ive heard that there are one or two State University schools that are willing to take some credits from AMU. I can tell you from experience that Florida State is not one of them. Big fat waste of my time and GI Bill. My advice is to stay away from for profit schools like this.
