With experience at another large Tech CC in the state, I can definitely say that AB-Tech is leagues beyond an average. Comparably well staffed, facilities maintained. Great library, great (free for student) tutoring center, smooth admissions/registrations. Truthfully, for its size & locale, best in the state. Last semester here & I still love it.

Asheville-Buncombe Technical Community College is a great community college. I got my associate's degree in Computer Science. The professors really care and want you to succeed in your courses. If you're in Buncombe County or even Henderson County, skip BRCC and go to AB Tech instead. Your transfer credits will thank you later.

All around great school on every level.
Overall 4.5
This is a good school. The program degrees are excellent. The AA and AS are good as well, but the transfer advising is a joke. The teachers that I have had in the Math department and in the Civil Engineering & Surveying departments are excellent! Most of the people that complain are ones that want to be able to float through a class effortless
Overall 4.2
Most instructors are very helpful everyone smiles. Wide variety of courses and people. Great environment
Overall 4
As good as anyone could expect for a community college.
Overall 4
Lovely place to be everyone is nice and willing to help whenever you need it. Campus is safe because they make sure the campus security is reachable at all times.
Overall 4
I am on my third degree at this college! If you have any complaints about the lack of clubs or activities on campus, please attend SGA meetings. We usually have 10 - 15 activities on campus bi-weekly. Take full advantage of what A-B Tech offers. The resources are ABUNDANT but don't get much attention. Check some out on the website.

this school is awful in so many ways, teachers are way over worked and so have no time for students. You can see the despair in their faces as the walk around campus. Lots of bickering between the faculty and the adminstration

Socialist/Communist Campus Life
Overall 1.6
Not a great school. Professors are iffy, extracurricular activities are nonexistent, buildings are extremely old. If you're having an issue and contact administration, you usually don't hear back from them and if you do, they're rude and unhelpful.
Overall 1.6
I hate this school and can't wait to get out. Instructors have been ok, Statistics instructors are awful. Math tutors in learning center are great. Had to pay $3 to replace a 6 year old library card and I hate the parking situation. Sure do wish that there was another choice around here. Forget about financial aid help.

ab-tech has awesome RN, Culinary and Business Hospitality schools, but that's it. if you're going to transfer to a 4 year, I'd suggest not using the transfer center. I think a dead house cat would be more helpful than them.
Overall 1.9
Traffic sucks but classes are easy. Nobody cares if you learn, everybody passes. Cheaper here than UNCA.
Overall 1.9
Filthy! Elm Building bathrooms are so terrible I honestly don't think they've been cleaned in months. Most of my classes were in Balsam Bldg. but this summer in Elm for math. Someone should call the health department. I'm glad they supply hand sanitizer. Otherwise school is OK, easy, teachers just seem to want to get through the day.
Overall 1.9
AB Tech is like bland food, no seasoning, they only have a had full of teachers and needs more recreational activities. It's very boring here!!!!!!!!
Overall 2
This community college has a very low graduation rate, around 22%. The faculty gets more service/honors awards than the students, and they are for the most part undeserving. There are very few good instructors here and most are unhelpful. They spend a lot of money on media hype.
