Overall 4.3
There's a community within this college campus. Everybody is welcoming, open and willing to help. All you gotta do is ask for it and take advantage of all of Augsburg's resources and locations :)
Overall 4.3
Small classes (smallest I've been in: 4; largest; 30) where the professors teach you 100% of the time. Food is really good some day's and not so good other days. Very nice and faculty in a friendly community. If they don't have the class you want they have partnerships with many other local private Universities where the class can be taken!!!
Overall 4.3
Augsburg is an awesome place with a lot of character. We have wonderful professors, thorough and satisfying courses, and are in the heart of Minneapolis, an interesting and green city that's top in the nation for biking, cleanliness, and green initiatives. Augsburg is generous with scholarships as well.
Overall 4.3
Small school in a big city. Across the street from U of MN. Very small class sizes, and faculty is top notch. You may need to sell a kidney to attend though.
Overall 4.2
Very small class sizes, I currently have a class with 7 students in it. Smaller campus minimizes parking/travel hassles. Religiously affiliated, yet not overbearing - only 2 required religion courses (1 for transfer students)
Overall 4.2
Augsburg greatly values diversity, so if that's not your thing then it may be an irritating ride. However, I had attended two universities prior to Augsburg- each with a finer reputation and a larger population- but the quality of my education at Augsburg was far superior to either. The professors and staff are superb. It's a hidden gem to be sure
Bad reviews
Overall 1
The bad rep of this school is right, it really is crappy. Passive aggressive poorly educated teachers and whiny students. If you want to learn to become a victim, and complain alot, go here because clearly the world owes you something. Two thumbs down.
Overall 1.6
The school is very expensive, and the money definitely doesnt go toward what it should be used for. Dorms are disgusting, food is disgusting, dont go here.
Overall 1.7
This school does not care about its students, truly. So many people I know actually have to transfer out of here to go to another school, so save yourself the time and energy and just skip this institution. You'll meet maybe a few good people, but the rest do not care about you being there.
Overall 1.8
This school does not care. Staff quit every single year. I am a sophomore and have no pre-health advisor, my academic advisor left, etc. Staff here and administration is a mess. I am only here to get a good gpa then transfer. There is no opportunity to be somebody here. All the students are carbon copies, no critical thinkers. Profs are great tho.
Overall 1.8
Augsburg University is a toxic place. You come with here with the hopes of succeeding and find it is a miserable place with miserable weather & no opportunity. The best decision I ever made was leaving this dark & sad place. I am not sure how it even exist anymore. I guess since they are so money-hungry they will most likely survive this pandemic.
Overall 1.8
Poor quality education offered at a high price.
Overall 1.9
Augsburg's renowned music therapy department shines despite financial constraints. However, the campus grapples with safety concerns and limited parking, accentuating the need for investment in both infrastructure and the department to create a more secure and student-friendly environment.
