love it here

So far I've only been here one semester for my graduate program, and I can say I love it. The staff, the students everyone is so nice and friendly. Every time I need help or advise they get back to me quickly. It is a great environment to learn and pursue a higher education.

Gave me the college experience I hoped for! God first community was very special and I will never forget the memories, relationships, academic growth, opportunities, and events I have experienced coming here!

APU is an awesome place to be. Great people and professors! There are many opportunities that grow you academically, professionally and spiritually! If I were applying for college again, I'd 100% choose APU again!

Bad reviews

APU has been the worst decision of my life. I regret everyday coming here. Unless you enjoy high school 2.0 with ridiculous Christian requirements and no social life then this school is perfect for you. The academics as well are mediocre, for the price community college may event be better. Azusa is a boring area with nothing to do.
Overall 1.2
Don't go to this school if you're not a Christian. Seriously, don't do it. You have to go to chapel 3x a WEEK, which is just ridiculous. If you miss more than 10 chapels a semester, there's a penalty. This school is very cliquey. It's hard to find friends or even connect with people if you're not religious. Professors are mediocre. Overall, crappy.
Overall 1.4
This school is awful. First off, the location is horrible and the campus is extremely boring and dull. Living areas are not kept up well and that might have to do with the horrible work ethic of the housing department. The social life here is so bad for people are nothing but pretentious and judgemental.
Overall 1.6
Cons: - no social greek life - few parties - Azusa is terrible, no bars and plenty of hoods - chapel 3 times a week - no social life, there are no school traditions or activities that are fun - parking - DII sports/shared stadium Pros: - small classrooms - teachers want to help - ZU Venture: APU's shark tank for business peeps
Overall 1.6
I transferred out of APU after my freshman year. I felt very uncomfortable at the school as an introverted person & I feared that I wouldn't be able to find a job post graduation. It was cliquey. I felt like hadn't left high school. The school isn't great academically. I struggled to adjust to a transfer school where quality work was expected.

If you want a tiny campus located in a city with no nightlife, filled with judgmental people, and be surrounded mostly by girls who claim to be saving themselves for marriage, this is the place for you. Get ready to have the most boring weekends of your life.
Overall 1.7
Coming to APU was the worst decision of my life. Education is mediocre, and Christianity is shoved down your throat with mandatory chapel 3x a week with bible classes. There is no social scene, the weekends are dead, the food is unhealthy with limited options, and Azusa city is not safe to walk around. Save your money and go to a state school.
Overall 1.8
I just graduated from APU. It is a great place to grow your faith with clubs. The food is disgusting, at best. The teachers: almost all adjuncts. The area: gunshots once a month. The internet: terrible. Chapel: stopped going after yr 1. The buildings: run-down, old furniture. Pros: small class sizes, great FULL TIME teachers, faith-driven.
Overall 1.8
APU is basically a four year community college, but not as nice. Though some teachers are over qualified to teach there the majority are not skilled at teaching and your gpa will suffer because of it. If you had to choose between community college and apu go to community college. Its no coincidence that apu shares a parking lot with Citrus college

I transferred after my first year here. I'm a Roman Catholic who was never SUPER religious and I came here to strengthen my relationship with God. I received a lot of judgement for coming from a different denomination and not being comfortable with the style of worship. Don't be fooled by the seemingly happy Christian atmosphere, they're all fake.
