Bakersfield College is truly a great college. I recommend it to everyone getting straight out of high school or even older. They have so much resources and all the stuff is very supportive. And the location is great ever since they made ever since. They built the southwest location. All of my professors so far have been very supportive
Overall 5
This Community College is great for new high school grads as well as older adults returning for re-education for job advancement or a new career. The degree specific classes are small and professors are very easy to engage with. I would recommend Bakersfield College to anyone wishing to gain new knowledge or a degree. I give BC an A+ Rating.

Great teachers, lots of support from them and from campus.

I loved everything about this school. My professors truly cared about me, I had ample resources, and emergency funding helped me afford to be a student. I wish I could stay. I'll be back as a teacher one day.
Overall 5
This school is one of the best community colleges in the country, hands down.

This college is a JOKE! People aren't serious about their education here. Over half the students end up dropping classes the 2nd week. Counselors: Set me back almost two years giving me wrong advice on classes I needed to take. EXTREMELY CLUELESS! Staff: Good teachers are hard to find. Parking: horrendous unless you get there at 6-7am. Area: bad
Overall 1.3
Zero wifi, except in like one building. Zero phone signal. Staff at school generally don't give a crap about your problem so you're going to struggle while trying to fix the problems they caused you. Safety is not the best at all. Numerous reports about people being followed by creeps in cars or on foot. Don't come here if you're a science major.
Overall 1.5
Location: Too far for me and not feel safe. Cafeteria: Nice people, a bit overpriced on food. Library: Often loud if book not checked-out; happens a lot. Parking: 6 am is good. 8 am is a bit handful. noon is horrible. 3 pm is a war zone. Tutoring: Most are nice. Clubs: No idea what they do. SGA: Ignores students. Teachers: Choose wisely.
Overall 1.5
Financial aid, counseling, and parking are a nightmare; professors either don't care about their classes or are phenomenal (there seems to be no in-between), the campus itself is gross and so is the food, and the tutoring options could be better organized. Forget trying to use the library, even the librarians are loud. Also it's pretty dangerous.
Overall 1.6
The financial aid office is horrible. The front desk for it only has students and they never have any answers about anything. Some professors are really cool, but make sure to ask people if they are a good person to take or not. People in the library are always being loud so if wanting to study and need a quiet place it may not be the best for.
Overall 1.7
I love most of the professors here but education advisors arent great. They make you take classes you shouldnt have to. Took the math assessment, got a 99 on the algebra part and it wouldnt let me move on, made me waste time and money taking MATH B75. Also, they make everyone take crop science even though other sciences transfer.
Overall 1.7
It's an okay school. Pretty underfunded but it definitely gets the job done. People are not very happy to be here because "it's Bakersfield". Kind of a depressing environment unless you know people to begin with. The student workers at the cafeteria look like they hate their job/life. I have had stellar professors though, which is all that matters
Overall 1.7
People from staff are rude, and don't care about our problems. Some nice teachers. Parking after 8:00 am up until 6:00 pm is a disaster, I have seen fights just to take over a spot. Parking is the most terrifying part of this school. Finding a parking space is truly a quest. Safety is also another issue, you have to be looking over your shoulders.

Counselors don't help much, especially if you're looking to go into any Pre-med pathways. They'll also disappear on you so you're left on your own to figure out what courses you need to transfer. I transferred and found out I still need 3 undergrad courses. They'll also award you a scholarship, but won't give it to you later on. Wasted time here.
