Too many cyber security criminals that hack into the school system to control and steal school funds and records. These members of faculty and legacy are the reason schools continually have no money.

This school is like being stranded in the middle of the sea on a ship with the same people and professors over and over again every semester. When going on international experience it was like going with professors who were cheated of their youth and had to make up for it at my expense of thousands of dollars. Their computers are all hacked too.

This school ain't for me...
Overall 1.1
Im a cadet at this Academy. I chose this school after a visit, a tour and presentation. Now that I'm here I can say that they sold the school FAR ABOVE what it actually delivers. Clubs only exist in name-almost noone participates. Career Fair has some companies for my major but not much-and the salary they claim you make after graduation is false.

Cal Maritime has serious problems with sexual harassment, domestic violence and racial discrimination. This campus is a dangerous place for female students in general but especially female minorities. Professors, staff and male cadets show blatant bias in day to day interactions-scholarships, programs and resources, Corps of Cadets-etc.
Overall 1.3
if you're looking for old buildings, mold in your food and dirty disgusting bathrooms and dorms-you've come to the right place. You won't see any of it during the campus tour. they make sure to show you "the best" but its bait and switch scheme!! you've been warned! the cadets who show you around are told to put :a good face on it" Dont be fooled!
Overall 1.4
This school has a rough reputation, just look online (LA Times), horrible food, admin doesn't care, overpaid officials, horrible housing, i could go on
Overall 1.4
From racism to sexual assault to just plain bad food, this school was an awful experience. Dont get tricked by the job placement rates. They fail to mention how a majority of a freshman class will drop out before the senior year. Also the school will force you to do manual labor for small infractions like having dirty shoes or face expulsion.
Overall 1.5
Given that everyone is forced to be part of the Corps of Cadets, you’d expect it to build camaraderie. But no, there is 0 sense of community.Unless you already fit the status quo, making friends is hard. There is basically no active clubs
Overall 1.5
Read carefully. Cal Maritime is good for Engineers only. Business and Global are a wreck. You will take 18+units a semester. They make your class schedule for you. you dont get a choice. Not enough Faculty-there are students who "graduate" and have to come back to take the class they couldn't get into. Majority of services and buildings is outdated
