As a first-year person of color, I think being here the first 2 weeks definitely intimidated me. However, the more you open yourself up to the community! You’ll love it here, I recommend connecting with people and not going random! The food is getting better, I hope to see more opportunities as I get older here at Cal Poly

Awesomest
Overall 4.7
Poly is a beautiful campus, massive renovations are happening in different areas of the campus, which is great. 12 minutes away from the beach. I always felt a sense of community and most students that I encountered during my time at Poly were nice people who always found time for a quick chat. I highly recommend the Craft Center @ UU!

Bad reviews
Overall 1.2
Please reconsider before attending. The campus and town are largely isolated, there is a toxic student culture, and there is no accountability for professors and other members of the administration.
Overall 1.8
Cal Poly is a school that will never offer help if you truly need it. They are all talk and no action. They don't offer enough classes so good luck ever getting the classes you need. In addition, any sexual abuse or racial-related conflicts will simply just get swept under the rug as President Armstrong only pretends to care.

This place is advertised way better than it actually is
