Such an amazing school! Private school vibes without the price. It’s definitely not a party school or a busy one at that but it’s beautiful and the teachers are truly wonderful. It’s also about 40 minutes from both LA and Santa Barbara which is a huge advantage of being in the area. I couldn’t recommend this school enough.

Good Computer Science Program.

I personally love Channel Islands because of the way they care for their students and the planet. There are many opportunities that Channel Islands offers their students to expand their knowledge and love for the Earth
Overall 4.9
Great school. Beautiful setting. Top-Notch Political Science program with really good Professors. Good for connecting you with the community and the legal profession. Students are nice. No regrets.
Overall 4.9
CSUCI is the newest of the CSU system, but it has built quite the school. Its location is amazing and you have the best of all areas(mountains, city, beach,ag). All the staff is super sweet, the campus is gorgeous and safe, the food is amazing, and overall I could not be happier. With class sizes & teachers, you really get the best out of your edu.
Overall 4.9
Excellent School. Beautiful campus. The Professors in Political Science are fantastic and really care about students. Parking is terrible and the social life is a bit lacking. Other than that, love this school.
Overall 4.9
I have been to 3 community colleges in California, Prescott College, Burlington College, classes at Humboldt State and Harvard extension. CSUCI was hands down the best. I received my BS in Biology and was easily able to do undergrad research, take a biotech class in India and work as a TA with out a stellar GPA. I highly recommend it!
Overall 4.7
It is a small campus with an interesting history. The professors are great and have your best interest at heart! Reaching academic goals is easy at this university and wish they offered more masters programs!
Overall 4.7
The size of the student body allows for students to have extra opportunities and to build lasting relationships with the faculty. It is truly an excellent school.
Bad reviews
Overall 1.2
CSUCI professors are low on the totem pole as far as university professors go. Expect your professors to get away with anything and everything. My time at CI has been awful and I’m counting down the days until I graduate. If you can go anywhere else, please do. Do not waste your time going to this school. I do not recommend!!
Overall 1.2
Ci is so disappointing, I feel like I made the wrong choice transferring here. Its so depressing and the professors ask for way too much for no reason. I couldnt even get classes, and I get the worst registration date and I am a junior
Overall 1.2
This school does the minimum for students. It was originaly designed (and actually was) a large mental institution so is secluded and isolated in its location. And the campus is literally built like a maze. Don't expect to be able to find restrooms or food or even a vending machine as they are few and far between. Campus living is deppressing.
Overall 1.2
Worst school in California. If you have the option of going to trade schol do so instead. This school will teach you nothing and will leave you at the mercy of the most subjective form of grading possible by professors that shouldn't be teaching anything. Never felt more shammed for agreeing to attend classes here. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS
Overall 1.3
Absolutely terrible school. Counselors are an absolute joke and you can never get any classes.
Overall 1.4
CSUCI has been the biggest disappointment and regret in my educational experience. Everything that this campus has to offer is mediocre. Do not go to this school. You are just a number $$ here. Do not come here if you have passion, want to learn, or want to enjoy your classes.
Overall 1.4
CI has been extremely disappointing. The food is absolutely terrible on campus. There is a 0 social aspect whatsoever, which gives the school an extremely depressing vibe. A lot of students have experienced depression here. SAFETY IS A JOKE. We were not even placed on lock down when a student was attacked with a gun. No care for student well being.
Overall 1.4
The school itself is not the worst looking school, but the faculty is quite lacking. Many unfair and rude teachers. If you want a school with clubs, this is NOT the school for you. The food is also blah. And if you don't plan on getting to class at least an hour early, say goodbye to any chance of finding parking.
Overall 1.5
I transferred here from a community college. I had high expectations at first. My mind change quickly. I soon realized everything that made the school seem good was an allusion for the parents to think theyre sending their kids somewhere nice. The food in the cafeteria is made by questionable characters. The food makes people sick. Hate it here.
Overall 1.7
school lacks many resources that even community colleges have. very isolated school, you will have to put in effort if you wish to make friends. food is also nothing special, but it suffices.
