Good reviews

I am a English major graduate, class of 2005, and Dr. Askew is one I still remember and cherish to this day. I would not be who I am if it were not for his genuine honesty and concern about learning. If you ever cross paths with Dr. Askew, embrace and respect his process, because he only wants the very best for you.

Overall 4.3
Excellent school for price. Great place to network and meet future African American leaders.
Overall 4.2
i love this school they have mad opportunities and it like a big family majority of the time and the staff (excluding a handful of professors) care about your future.

Wouldn't be where I am without CAU!

Bad reviews
Overall 1
I left high school last year and being at CAU makes me feel like Im at another one.
Overall 1
I was excited to come here and left disappointed at the experience I had. Its really unbelievable how this campus and the people on it (students and faculty alike) act. Not even close to what an HBCU is supposed to be.
Overall 1
Only come here if they give you a full ride, and even then youd be better off somewhere else. Not nearly worth the tuition costs. Professors/faculty are careless and nasty toward students. Social aspect is whack bc students lack school spirit & are more interested in drama. Very toxic. Theres better schools right up the street honestly.
Overall 1.3
Not that great but still better than a lot of other hbcu
Overall 1.6
Please avoid coming here, unless you have a scholarship. It’s not worth it, all the stress and torture you go through is not worth 40k a year. Many people leave after freshman year and i’m working on getting out of here. I’d rather go to a cheaper PWI than to stay at a bad expensive HBCU.
Overall 1.6
Dont come here. There are no tutoring services. The campus isnt safe. There are roaches in the dorm rooms. Worst college experience ever. If youre a pre-med student please dont come here. Do not waste your time or money. It will not prepare you for med school. Please listen to me.

Hated every moment so far. Too far in to leave.

Overall 1.9
An often complaint by the students has to be how the funding is not going to the right places and that the general departments do not care about the students.
Overall 1.9
over-priced.
