Like ever school there are flaws but I loved my time at Colby

Colby is a great school with (mostly) academically driven people who also have great hearts. The faculty and how much they care about their students is unmatched. I have never felt so supported.

Colby is great! I really like it here
Overall 4.5
Colby is one of those schools where you either love it or hate it-- you have to be sure that this is the type of environment you want to spend your four years in. For me, I was lucky enough to be able to tour the campus more than once before attending.

I really like this place. The academics are really top tier, and despite the annoying "we teach you how to learn" that gets pretty old pretty fast, I have yet to have a teacher who's class I didn't enjoy. The internet tops out at 1 gigabit per second in my room, and there are so many great places to eat. I have no more space- social life is good

If you're looking for a place to study, this is the right one.

Terrific school! Best decision in my life. Professors are extremely accessible. Students are genuinely passionate about academic and community. Lots of privileged students here but most are very kind. The alumni network is awesome and the career center will help you a lot to find a job, especially in finance-related industry.

Do yourself a favor and avoid this place. Their motto these days is Dare Northward. Well, please take my advice and don't bother. You're much better off going Southward and Westward. They're spending obscene sums on athletics and other things that have nothing to do with academics or the life of the mind. The food is barely edible too.

Colby stinks across the board. They're great at marketing, promoting themselves and doing everything to appear selective by not requiring essays or fees when applying. Trust me, it's all a calculated game with the current administration and admissions office. Their applications have skyrocketed by so many being fooled by this approach.

Colby and its surroundings stinks in just about way, including lousy food. You're in the middle of nowhere and you'd be better off going somewhere else, trust me. It's been a long, lonely, frustrating four years, but I'll be done this spring. Can't get outta here soon enough. Take my advice. I wish I listened to others.

Colby is an overly pretentious disaster. The students are not very intelligent and would rather party than learn. I'm sorry I chose to attend. Don't fall for their sales pitch.
Overall 1.2
The academic and social life here leaves much to be desired. Same for the food, classmates and location, yet they spent nearly a quarter of a billion (yes, billion) dollars on their new athletics facility. That shows where their priorities are and therefore I would not recommend this place to anyone go wants to receive an excellent education.
Overall 1.2
Colby is a college to be avoided. The academics are mediocre at best, fellow classmates are not terribly intelligent or interested in learning and the campus is dominated by a sports culture that overshadows everything else. The food and dorms are nothing to brag about either. Please look elsewhere for your own sanity.

Worst decision I ever made was to attend Colby. My friends at Bates love it there. Wish I'd transferred.

Colby is a pyramid scheme with the legacy and athletic students at top and everyone else flipping their bill. The school regularly comes in contact with dangerous situations on and off campus. The professors seem to be espousing a 1950s style conformity to thought with little to no true academic freedom. Social life and student groups are a joke.
