The College of Southern Maryland is amazing! This community college in comparison to others in Maryland offers a great learning environment. I opted to pay out of county every semester and I have no regrets. The teachers there are top-quality and the programs there offer great opportunities for every major, career, or certificate.
Overall 4.5
This is a beautiful campus and very affordable. Doesn't even feel like a community college! Fully prepared me to excel when I transferred to the University of New Mexico.

Best decision I have ever made. There is always someone there to help you. Whether it be tutoring, financial, advising, etc. I love having the option to study online or in a physical class.

they really help there students. if you need anything they will help you.

CSM is the school to go to. I have been all online classes & although I've had some problems trying to contact faculty , they do eventually get back to you. This campus is in the middle of no where so you don't have to deal with city traffic but you need to be careful walking at night. CSM will save you loads of money vs 4yr institutions. Pick CSM!
Overall 4.3
Best community college in Southern Maryland. All of their campuses ( La Plata, Prince Frederick, Leonardtown) are beautiful and well kept. They also have classes held at the Waldorf Center. So glad I graduated from this amazing school.
Overall 4.3
Could update their voice mail and website daily. Need more computers in the library.
Overall 4.3
It's chill.

Check the student life page for more information for clubs and sports on the college website since each campus is different. There is a decent variety of averaged price food and beverages in the Cafeteria. You won't be disappointed when you come to CSM because you will definitely meet a lot of people from different walks of life.
Overall 4.2
CSMD is a great school. Its very big and has so many opportunities for people with all sorts of interests. Don't feel ashamed coming to community college when you come here, its a great place!
Bad reviews
Overall 1.1
The Prince Frederick Campus is boring. There's nothing fun to do, there's not much social interaction. Some of the professors seem uninterested in teaching, like they don't even want to be there. I unfortunately had to go here and hated it.
Overall 1.1
I go to the Prince Frederick campus and it is so boring. There's no fun activities and no one knows anything. You call certain service offices but they rarely pick up the phone or get back to you when you leave a message. The Wifi buffers constantly. The La Plata campus has all the fun classes, there's barely anything good to take.
Overall 1.2
It's a typical community college, but with too many VPs and executives. Students are viewed as dollar signs. Their nursing program is particularly the worst.
Overall 1.2
The Prince Fredrick campus is boring. There's no food besides the vending machines and there's no good classes to take. There is nothing to do either.
Overall 1.5
As a far as the Prince Frederick campus goes, the atmosphere is incredibly boring. There is nothing ever to do. If you go here, expect no social life. The campus feels like a far less interesting version of high school. I would only recommend if you are desperately trying to save money and this is your only option. Hated it.
Overall 1.5
The school is okay if you know you will get out eventually. It is easy to get trapped here tho. Southern Maryland will eat you alive if you let it.
Overall 1.6
you get no help at all from the administrators and then when you do get help they don't tell you accurate information (not sure if this is do to them not knowing or if it is intentional) :(
Overall 1.6
this campus is terribly boring and feels like high school
Overall 1.8
I have a 3.8 GPA but I do not feel as though I received a real education. Every semester I had a problem with one or two professors. The professors are not very involved in teaching. They simply read the book or the PowerPoint back to the class instead of actually teaching.
Overall 1.8
I have not enjoyed my experience with CSM at all. For this supposedly being a "cheap" and "affordable" school, it sure is expensive. Office workers could care less about you and are of no help. Some of them even don't know how to do their job. It's sad, and I really feel like dropping out after this semester and going to a different school.
