Like everywhere, this place has its issues but it honestly is special. The teachers are amazing and so are students.

I attended one of Earlham's week long summer programs and it was amazing the dorms are nice and the food is excellent.
Overall 4.3
Excellent education, fantastic student community with a strong influence of Quaker values.

Small school feel brings a lot of community and can increase students' awareness. Bureaucracy prevails as it does everywhere, but Faculty and Students support each other.

The college is great but there is always room from improvement
Overall 4.1
A lot of the professors really care about how the students are doing as people and not just academically. I never feel pressured into a social situation that I don't want to be in, but there are options for social situations that fit most students. It is a weird school for weird people and full of love.

Bad reviews
Overall 1.5
This college has a low retention rate of their freshman class. The reason I transferred after one year was because of how difficult it was to focus on academics. People do not go to this school to study, they go for the experience. If you care about your grades or grad school this is not the college for you.

So I went here in 2011, and I transferred after one year. If you are going to this campus to learn and do well in school then this is the wrong place for you. There are parties every night, even on floors that are designated for the less rambunctious. I felt isolated and lonely the entire time, while struggling to maintain focus in my academics.

Earlham College walks a fine line between hippy retreat and football frathouse. Because of the school's awkward location in the middle of dreadful Richmond, IN, if you don't drink, you will have absolutely NOTHING to do here. If I could transfer, I would. That being said, the faculty will not let you fail due to their general awesomeness.
