Overall 5
A lot of people put the school down because of the area, but it is beyond safe thanks to campus police and its a great school.

Excellent education! Very affordable! Highly recommend!
Overall 4.8
Highly recommend this university. Best CJ and Nursing program you will find almost anywhere. And it is very cheap to come here ($10,000 a year to Commute) ($20,000 a year to live on campus)

Fitchburg State is an affordable university. Quality education and a great choice for obtaining your degree.
Overall 4.3
FIRST YEAR GET INVOLVED IN AS MANY THINGS AS YOU CAN TRIO SSS, WORK-STUDY, CLUBS, GO TO EVERY OFFICE IN HAMMOND AND MOSTLY CAREER CENTER, CDI, TUTOR CENTER, COUNSELING SERVICES, INTRODUCE YOURSELF, AND LET THEM KNOW YOUR GOALS AND PASSION. THEY WILL STICK WITH YOU UNTIL THE END THEY WANT TO SEE YOU WALKING TOWARDS YOUR DEGREE, 4 YEARS WILL GO FAST.
Overall 4.3
Great school, all the opportunities are there for you to make what you can with it. Easy to get in contact with professors, small classes, and interesting material.
Overall 4.1
Great school and there’s so many activities to be involved in. Only downside for me is the location, downtown Fitchburg can get pretty jammed up.

Bad reviews
Overall 1.3
This school was not bad at first, but being home made me realize how much I do not want to go back there. We have 1 dining hall that does not allow us to bring food in/out with limited swipes (unless you have unlimited). The only way to be social is if you party, barely anyone here attends social events, and some of the faculty here are not good.
Overall 1.3
FSU has completely changed my outlook on life. I now know that the world is a desolate waste land and fsu is the sewage that flows through it. If you want to waste 4+ years of your life surrounded by idiots, this is the place for you. You will most likely be here for more than years because none of the advisors can figure out wtf is going on.
Overall 1.4
awful awful awful school. worse decision choosing this for my first university. people and professors are rude and disgusting. seriously. every single person i met. plus you feel like youre going to get jumped when you walk places
Overall 1.5
Don't bother.
Overall 1.6
This school has brought me nothing but pain and misery I can't wait to transfer to a different school in 2 weeks.. The food here is terrible, res life is ridiculous and the professors fo the most part don't care about you. Also the students here only care about drinking. Don't go here.
Overall 1.7
Do not come to this school if you think that just because its is cheaper it is worth it. I have never been so miserable in my entire life and in addition to that i am STILL in debt, big big debt, and you will be too. Everyone raves about the film program but to be fair I highly doubt that you will ever get from fitchburg to hollywood. go else where
Overall 1.8
This school is frustrating. Prepare to pay thousands of dollars just to take directed studies and teach yourself classes. Not enough courses are offered per semester so you will most likely will not graduate on time. Advisors won’t email you back and rarely help you get what you need done. If you’re a transfer student you will experience this.
Overall 1.9
Not many social opportunities that are actually interesting, but they try. There is no real connection or together student body. Not one of those schools people go around parading and talking about.
Overall 1.9
school is good on academics, but awful in diversity, community, housing is terrible outside of Russel hall, and campus life is so boring.
Overall 1.9
Nice campus for the most part but don't walk around off-campus at night alone
