Academics
- How do I add a class?
- If you have been given a registration PIN from your advisor, you can add a class using your MyGCC account through the end of the add period. If you do not have a PIN, contact your advisor or the Advising Center.
- What happens when I repeat a class?
- When you repeat a class, the original class still shows on your transcript with the grade you received, but it does not count in your GPA. The grade for the latest taking of the class is what will be counted into your GPA.
- How do I get credit for classes taken at another college?
- Have an official transcript sent from your previous college to GCC. The transfer credit evaluator will determine what classes will transfer based on your current major.
Academic Advising
- Where can I get academic advising?
- The Academic Advising Center (AAC) is located in the core of the main building (C118). Students can visit the office or attend virtual drop-in hours. Contact advising@gcc.mass.edu or (413) 775-1339 for support.
- What information is included in Advising Notes?

- Submit a “Request for Withdrawal” form by logging into your MyGCC account.

so supportive!

GCC is the best community college around. Students are encouraged to reach far beyond what you typically consider opportunities for community college. As a freshman, I had the opportunity to conduct research, take a paid internship, network with faculty, receive expert advising, and join student government. I'll never regret my decision to attend.

Frankly this is a great transfer school. What I mean by transfer school is that if you didn't do well in high school this is a great way to transition to a four year college/university. I very much enjoy this school there is a wide variety of people. It has been my experience that most of the people who dislike the school aren't really trying.

GCC is an amazing place that offers great classes and excellent professors--especially in English and Math! They are so caring and supportive!

I love my school, although the public transportation to the school could use some work
Overall 4.2
This college has a wonderful community of the very best people.
Overall 4.1
One of the best community colleges in the state. Some programs (like Media Arts) have regional acclaim and attract students from as far as the Midwest. Education quality is excellent. Teachers are caring and patient. The recently redesigned campus includes a new library. Bill Cosby rightly called GCC "the best community college in the universe."

Overall this college is amazing, Ive had nothing but support from all ends. However, Id say that there is a severe lack of clubs. There are plenty of student activities but its difficult to make friends because the activities rarely help you make friends. First day of class and there were already cliques, anyone outside of these are scattered.

I loved my time at GCC and everyone I have met who either went there or knows someone who goes there had a pleasant experience. There is amazing faculty and staff who really want you to succeed.

I took classes at Greenfield Community College between the fall of 2017 and the fall of 2019. I live about an hour from the school but I really enjoyed making the commute at the time. I have a lot of good memories of my experiences here. I liked some prof and didn't like others but overall the facility here are great. Everyone else was nice too

This is Greenfield High School part 2.

This place is a black hole. It's just an extension of Greenfield High School.
Overall 1.3
It's a very lonely experience. If you are straight out of high school, don't expect anyone to be your age, maybe 50% is under 50. Most of the classes are easy, but all the teachers favor. Don't Go Here!
Overall 1.6
I'm just going to put it plain and simple. I don't like GCC. The faculty have been nothing but a pain to deal with, they aren't helpful in the least bit, and I'm counting down the days until I'm gone. NOT A GREAT EXPERIENCE.
Overall 1.6
I would advice anyone from attending GCC. Most of the professors have a negative attitude towards the student and the school, some professors will make the acusation that GCC students are old, pregnant, high school drop outs. The advisors will discourage transfer from any college except for any in the local area: UMASS, Hamshire, etc.
Overall 1.7
I choose this school to save money but wish I had gone to a four year college instead. Campus is dull, and I've run into some very unhelpful faculty. Can't wait to transfer and get out of there.
