Awesome college, great staff, beautiful location.
Overall 4.8
It does what it was intended to for me, it got me my AA degree and transferred into UF. So 5 stars from me. It was nice being able to knock out general education courses here in Panama City and pay some of the cheapest tuition in the state.
Overall 4.5
I'm taking online courses for my degree. It's been perfect so far. Professors & staff are awesome, helpful, & laid back. Classes are perfectly designed for busy people who want to pursue their degree or certificate course. This college makes it absolutely achievable & affordable to complete your degree. Very happy with this college.
Overall 4.2
I transferred to Gulf Coast State College from a large university. I don't regret that decision.
All the professors I've had have been amazing. You can tell they truly care about you.
It's a little hard to meet new people, but it's easy if you try.
The only downside is that classes for my major are online. The GCSC campus is beautiful.
Overall 4.2
This school is awesome. I am recently a returning adult student and they made this very simple after 13 years of no school.
Overall 4.1
I am a current student and I am very happy with GCSC. I attended online college for a long time and going to GCSC was a very nice transition to a traditional brick and mortal school. I have had great instructors and I they are going their best to help with my transition to FSU. Great school, beautiful campus, and great staff!

I honestly believe that Gulf Coast is the best college in this area. It also doesn't hurt to have an ocean view!

Awful tutoring programs.

Gulfcoast artificially infates its enrollment and student employment numbers by having its employees take the same classes over and over again. Most people who go here now are employed here or by a favored institution. If your not employed here or don't have "hero" social status than you will be an outcast or even an exile.
Overall 1
Gulfcoast has been making rediculous claims regarding student employment, continuing education, student satisfaction, and what students do after graduating claiming 95.4% find a job or further their education within a year and 98.6% would recommend the college with no data to support these claims and evidence that these claims are false
Overall 1
Gulfcoast state college has been claiming that 98.6% of students would recommend GCSC, which seems impossibility high and an imaginary figure dreamed by the college who is becoming increasingly desperate to attract student after a string of bad publicity with no data to support such a claim. Most students would not recommend GCSC and feel robbed.
Overall 1
Gulfcoast now claims on their website that 95.5% of students are hired or continue their education within a year of graduating, but the reality is much different most students struggle to fine a job and many don't continue or unable to continue their education if they graduate. A lot of students end up dropping out or transferring before graduation
Overall 1
Gulfcoast had security breach of students and employees financial information earlier this year and there just now telling us about it! And they still expect us to open checking accounts thourgh then or hand over our checking account for digital payments after this breach of security and trust.
Overall 1
Most of the honors program professors are horrible egomaniacs that constantly accuses most students of cheating and you have to work harder to prove you didn't cheat then you do on the actual assignments. The honors program is more about egos and marketing the college than acdemics or anything else. The few people in the program are very shallow...

Gulfcoast's chapter of Phi Theta Kappa doesn't do much if anything at all and has been mostly inactive for years apparently. At Gulfcoast Phi Theta Kappa is more about paying money for the bragging rights to say your better then everything one else even though you didn't do much if anything. The bar for entry is set so low almost anyone can get in

The fincaial aid deparment has become such a pain to deal with over they years. They frequently screw up their end of the paper work and misfile things regularly they still don't use modern technology either. They are also very disconnected from the rest of the college and don't keep up with the current degree plans, requirments, or even enrollment
Overall 1
The financial aid department engages in predatory lending practices and somtimes will try to push students that are eligible for grants and scholarships into student loans thats are more profitable for the college or department.
