Hawkeye's photography program is unmatched in the state of Iowa, maybe even the US. The teachers are incredible & if you are at all interested in photography -- Hawkeye is the place to go!

Hawkeye Community College is a great place to start your secondary education. The teachers are so kind and want you to succeed. They are willing to take the time out of their day to help you succeed. The campus may be small in out in the middle of nowhere, but it's a safe, close-knit community where it is not hard to make friends in class.

that is affordable and the atmosphere is comfortable, teachers are very accessible and the facilities are well maintained .

The more involved you are the more you get from it. I am an alternative student (42) and have been able to go back to school due to the options and flexibility of Hawkeye Community College. Offers the chance to complete your first two years of college at a huge savings!
Overall 4.2
The campus is great. Most of the professors have their PHD and they are passionate about teaching and ready and willing to help students. The only complaint I have is the advisers are terrible. They don't have a clue what they are doing, and you are better off finding another student to help you or try to figure it out yourself.
Overall 4
The Student Center has a pool hall, fairly large dining with good food. They host a variety of speakers & fun events like multi-cultural food tasting, dance classes health fairs at the HESC (gym) theatrical performances etc. WARNING: The academic advisers have NO idea what they are doing! Triple check to make sure you're taking the correct courses.
Overall 4
Easily accessible. Small enough campus that it's easy to get around but not so small that it has nothing to offer. Instructors are very knowledgeable and seem passionate about their teaching. Facilities are clean and modern (with updates being done all the time). As a commuter I appreciate the common areas and the quiet study areas.

Stay away if you are going into Nursing Program. Hawkeye's Nursing Program is a mess right now. Also be aware that to make a C here you have to make 80%. Most other colleges is about 73%. It is a huge difference believe it or not. Again the Nursing program here is way too flipping hard. You are better off going to another college...

It''s pretty much going back to high school

Teachers for the most part are good. Making money is school's top priority. They teach Diversity but do not practice its ideas except in the sociology dept. The administration is the worst.
Overall 2
This school is not for people who are used to city life. However, I am from a very small town and found that this school is not right for me because there are so many "country" people. I felt like I was walking around a farm all day. The air smells a lot and there is always construction happening. I will not be going back.
