This place is amazing.

Hofstra is what you make it. Some students here are miserable, that's because they only see misery. If you come to Hofstra and take advantage of all its glorious opportunities, you will have a blast and the four years will fly by. 40 minutes from NYC, kind and well-renown professors, beautiful campus grounds, diverse food choices, great academics.
Overall 4.7
The campus is beautiful and vibrant and there are just A LOT of opportunities.
Overall 4.7
A beautiful campus and everyone is really nice. The school is super social so it is really hard NOT to make friends. Good opportunities, clubs and programs for everyone.

its a great school

When I went there you had an arboretum/sculptures/ green space, and gorgeous classroom sections on one side and all the student parking you needed on the other side even for freshman with proximity to NYC and Jones Beach. Long Island is the best of both worlds as you can travel into NYC by shuttle to Long Island Rail Road or drive. I loved it.
Overall 4.7
They excel in all aspects. The most important part is that they have professors teaching ALL students. There are no teaching assistants. The institution mainly have professors, doctors, adjunct professors. the quantity of HW varies among professors. most importantly they are the best teachers you can get. they have a passion about teaching.

Hofstra is the place to be for someone looking for a bigger campus that feels like a small community
Overall 4.5

awful place awful people and Long Island sucks and so do the people there too
Overall 1.6
Not for minorities in STEM. Very overpriced and classes are harder than at other schools. Social life sucks, especially as a commuter.

WORST. COLLEGE. EVER. DO NOT GO HERE. From rude professor that only care for a paycheck, you'll be lucky if you even got an email back. They are a fraud and fake advertise programs. Students don't talk and are overall very antisocial. If you wanna feel like your back in High School come here. I hated every second I was there. Good thing im leaving.

Public safety states they support police but some of their actions say otherwise.

SHACC professionals lack proper medical knowledge and therefore provide diagnosis's to individuals who are healthy. Also, they don't listen very well as they mess up permanent records. I recommend you go elsewhere instead of this university.

Advising staff is not helpful at all, Hofstra makes it seem like they will be by your side throughout your 4 years, this is not the case. You pay an arm and a leg for teachers who do not teach well, advising staff who do not care about students, and food that is sometimes okay. Wish I went to another school.. education is really bad here!!!
