Academic information
Degree Courses
- The Institute of Audio Research offered a variety of degree courses
- but specific numbers are not provided in the sources. However
- it is mentioned that the institution offered programs in fields such as audio electronics
- digital music production
- mixing music
- and audio processing and storage. Given the lack of specific numbers
- it is difficult to provide an exact count. Therefore
- the best approximation is that the Institute of Audio Research had multiple degree courses
- but the exact number is not specified. If we consider the broad range of programs mentioned
- it could be anywhere from a few to several dozen. However
- without precise data
- it is challenging to give an exact number. Thus
Key Area
- Audio electronics
- digital music production
- mixing music
- audio processing and storage
Student and Staff Numbers
- Students: The total number of students enrolled at Institute of Audio Research is approximately 295 students (268 full-time and 27 part-time) as of the latest available data
- Undergraduates: The number of undergraduate students enrolled at Institute of Audio Research is not explicitly stated in the provided sources. However, the total enrollment in 2016 was 295 students, and in 2022, the total enrollment was 608 students, but the breakdown between undergraduate and graduate students is not specified. Therefore, an exact number for undergraduate students cannot be given. However, if we assume that the total enrollment in 2016 was mostly undergraduate students, we could estimate a range. Given that the total enrollment in 2016 was 295 students and assuming a similar distribution between undergraduate and graduate students, we might estimate the number of undergraduate students to be around 150-200. However, this is purely speculative and not based on specific data. For a more accurate answer, additional specific data on the distribution between undergraduate and graduate students would be needed

Study real engineering at a proper university if you want a better understanding of the technical side of audio. If you want to understand production, study music at a decent university. Ultimately, nothing is taught at IAR that cannot be found online and in a few books. There is no challenge offered by the school's curriculum.

Do not waste your time or money, go out west or to Boston. This school is a joke, like the old saying. Take the money and run. Thats why they should change their name to LIAR, I was told by a couple of students don't go here, but I failed to listen. Take my advice GO SOMEWHERE ELSE!!!!
Overall 1.9
For the money paid, completely disappointed. Still have to enroll in another school to finish learning the basics.

Would honestly not recommend this to anyone who has no experience in music production. Was a waste of time since I didn't have equipment at home to actually use the knowledge i gained. Besides that, some teachers here are bitter that they didn't "make it" and take it out on the students. The hands-on experience is shared, so it's not worth it.
