Good reviews

In my 3rd year here at LCAD. I love this art school! I have learned so much in all my classes, even the required GE. The studio classes are tough, but how else will anyone learn if not challenged? I receive good critiques that have helped me become a better graphic designer. I have met and made lifetime friends here. I highly recommend LCAD!

A real art school with top notch teachers that know the trade.

Great technical training, you will learn how to draw and paint well. Unfortunately there aren't as many jobs as they say there are. Go into graphic design or become a freelance illustrator. Weird politicsconflicts between faculty and department chairs. Many of the male faculty are sexually frustrated and like to hit on the students and models.

It's very hard to transfer their credits to other schools.

Good luck trying to follow the 4 year plan.

They may advertise as one of the lower-costing art schools, but living in Laguna Beach starts to become unaffordable really quickly.
Overall 1.8
Wasn't impressed by the school. The campus didn't make me feel safe. It wasn't worth all the money you spend. Also worst bathrooms ever. I believe you could spend your money on something more valuable education wise. I was very underwhelmed. I had some nice teachers though.

Do not come to this school for animation. Not only will you not learn the relevant skillset for the industry (we were discouraged from working digitally and were never taught 2D programs), but the current chair, Dan Boulos, does not know what he is doing. The school only cares about the Game Art, Graphic Design, and Drawing/Painting programs.
