Good reviews

All around great university. It is a teaching university so you get really hands on in many courses and actually interact with the professors; who are all good and responsive. They don't offer as many programs as the UofA but that is to be expected. Great place if you plan on going to grad school afterwards or plan on transfering for years 3/4.

Great School

Super great school with inclusion, diversity, and student resources.

Macewan is a pretty school, especially for studying business/commerce. It could be better if certain profs were slightly better at teaching. However there are some great profs too, check rate my prof before enrolling or dropping any classes since the reviews are almost always accurate. The cost of tuition is not bad either, to be honest.

treated me very well over my degree. happy to be a macewan graduate

It's a pretty chill campus!
Overall 4.6
if you are thinking of applying for a bachelor's degree, no matter in which field, this university is a great option compared to U of A because the class sizes are small, around 40 to 38 per class, so the professor gives personal attention to you, which is definitely not possible in U of A.

I love spending time at MacEwan. This school is absolutely amazing, you just have to put yourself out there! There are a lot of clubs and if there isn't one that suits you it is super easy to start your own! The staff is all super friendly and so are 95% of the students.
Bad reviews

Below-average instructors. Low quality of teaching.
Overall 1.5
I am disappointed with this institution's lack of attention to security, facilities improvement, tuition increase, and quality focus over my five-year tenure. While gender-neutral bathroom accessibility has improved, it remains insufficient. Although more affordable, the institution must prioritize education quality improvements.
Overall 1.6
Where to begin? Sketchy location with homeless people wandering into the building & shooting up. Internet hardly works. Classes fill up on the first day of enrollment, so trying to graduate feels like the Hunger Games. Advisors are awful. Not enough gender-neutral facilities. Online portal for classes is brutal. I just can't recommend MacEwan.
Overall 1.6
I only went here for one year, and it was very hard to make friends because everyone was so standoffish. I took 6 classes. I had three teachers who showed up regularly and engaged the class. One teacher did not show up for 1 month and didn't provide any work for us to do. I had extremely rude teachers, not just to me but also to others.
Overall 1.6
Overall, it is a depressing place
Overall 1.7
transferred to the uofa, they dont care about students or helping them loooool bye
Overall 1.7
There is zero school pride here. No one cares that they go to MacEwan and the sports teams are basically non-existent as the school doesn't care to promote them. I got absolutely zero help from the "advisors" there to the point that it made me switch schools. They do not want to help you and only want your money. Towers has good food though.
Overall 1.9
Just go somewhere else. They have either too many students or not enough classes. It's hard to get what you want/need for grad schools. Profs are good, when you can enroll. As a campus, MacEwan leaves you feeling unsupported. I don't regret much in life, but I regret going here. Find a better university. Location is ok, but homeless wander in.
Overall 1.9
Sever problems with homeless people coming inside the school or shooting up right in front. Parking is excessively expensive, but I do not feel safe to park several blocks down and walk; especially, for evening classes or early mornings. No opt-out option for bus pass! It works out to be 180$/ semester for something I do not use !
Overall 2
This school needs to stick to Fine Arts. Sciences are sub par. Professors (some not all) are B or C listers and it shows. If you can get into U of A, do it. Better quality school.
