Overall 4.8
I love Mac! Such a great atmosphere and great people. The location is amazing, there is a lot to do, and the campus is beautiful and easy to get around. I love being close to the city and having coffee shops and restaurants close. Don't overlook it, I'm so glad I chose to go here. The quality of the education is amazing, and everyone is super smart

Macalester is a great school!
Overall 4.7
Incredibly friendly students and staff, everyone has so much passion for what they study, a very collaborative environment while still being rigorous. Many opportunities, both in and out of the classroom, including jobs, internships, support after graduation, and on-campus resources, as well as good financial aid. The only downside is the food.
Overall 4.7
Macalester is great in pretty much every way (except weather). Mac people love learning and we truly believe in global citizenship, many of us fighting for progressive change in anti-intellectual, corporatist America. You get a great education surrounded by smart/interesting (left-wing) people. If this sounds LIKE you, Macalester is FOR you!
Overall 4.6
It's a wonderful school. The professors are caring and smart; the campus and surrounding neighborhoods are beautiful, especially in the summer and fall. I don't think it's any more or less cliquey than other schools; you'll find your people and learn to avoid the few bad apples, such is life.

The worst things about Macalester are its food and internet. The food is always horrible, and the Internet is extremely slow. The internet crashes every two weeks and this really sucks when you have a paper to send to your professor but the Internet does not work.
Overall 1.8
The Internet is so slow. Can't even watch youtube videos...
