People have really bad opinions about the school but its actually a great place.

Solid school. Especially for engineering.

MUN is a great school. It needs a bit of updating up they are slowly improving many areas. The newer areas are gorgeously designed and maintained.
Older buildings need to be torn down and rebuilt, the asbestos is an issue that they area constantly fixing, and the munnels need some waterproofing besides tubes and containers lining the halls.

I love that I feel safe here. There are lots of places to study, and I feel like the profs really care. I attended another university out of the province and found the quality comparable. I would recommend Memorial.

As a Canadian student of color who got mistreated by professors thinking I am an international student, I have nothing good to say about this school. Not saying that all professors are like that but those that are will have no action taken against them.

Everything is designed to keep people in past their first year, because it is an open secret that transferring is nigh-impossible after your second year. You will quickly realize that your 15-section courses have dropped to a single session that is offered once a year, if that. Good luck if you need it to graduate. Avoid at all costs!

from the lack of course offerings for anything past first-year to the literally broken campus, a world of frustration awaits you. you're treated like cash cows, not students. avoid if at all possible
Overall 1
the course offerings are so unreasonable for anything past first-year, you will literally end up delaying your graduation because they will never offer courses you need to take. it's hilarious, as a 4th year CS student there are 5 (!) classes offered, and because they changed the entire curriculum recently you don't even meet the prereq's for most.

worst university ever.

3. Whatever opportunities there are are poorly advertised 4. Sports facilities are severely lacking and very few quiet areas to study or hang out. 5. Internet is poor at times. 6. Food is not that great in dining hall. Usually have to go out for food. 9. You will start feeling more depressed half way through the semester.
Overall 1.2
This school is a joke, it was mediocre at best before the lockdowns and has absolutely bungled the shift to online learning. Some of the profs are decent however most have been absolutely laughable. If I could give this school a zero I would !

They have disorganization between each other
Overall 1.4
I struggled to get into courses near the end of my degree as they seem to have admitted too many students into my faculty. A lot of the faculty had your best interest in mind but a few with tenure obviously didn’t give a shit about teaching. Biggest complaint was the crazy amount of strange fees that pop up throughout your time at MUN.

Great place if you love being around asbestos all day every day. Dhall is a legit health concern.
