Overall 4.9
This campus has something for everybody. The community is wonderful. They really want you to succeed. We are very lucky to have a place like this to serve our communities. Dont discredit them because its a smaller town. Small class sizes mean you are really engaged with your instructor and they know who you are.
Overall 4.9
Joplin and the surrounding communities are very lucky to have this university! So many diverse programs and professionals that want you to succeed. The cost is very reasonable. Plenty of clubs and activities going on. They take safety seriously as well. Its like a tiny town.
Overall 4.9
The Biology Department is amazing! They have a lot of great classes and the experiences you can gain are great. The labs are new and the research spaces are outstanding. There are clubs and plenty of activities that will help you get ready for careers in biology (wildlife bio in my case). The school is exceptionally good!
Overall 4.8
I am really glad I came here. The class sizes are small and all the professors I have met have a real interest in the students. Dorms are great and just across from campus. The campus is pretty big and there are a lot of different things you can do on campus. Plenty of clubs and ways to gain experience.
Overall 4.7
I love attending MSSU. It is a beautiful campus with amazing faculty and staff. There is a genuine community feel whenever you step on campus. The campus is easy to navigate and is frequently being updated to keep things nice.
Overall 4.6
Its a really good school. Classes are fun and the professors have a lot of real world experience to help get you to where you want to be. There are a ton of clubs that you can join and a lot of campus things you can do!
Overall 4.6
A lot of the buildings are newly renovated. The professors care and help you a lot. Parking is not too bad but get there early. There are a lot of student resources available and there are a lot of clubs and events. The science programs are very good!
Overall 4.5
The staff is the best part of this school, they really help you and want you to succeed!
Overall 4.4
Great campus if you're looking for a smaller area! You really get to know your professors well and make some of the best connections of friends and other relationships as well. They have many opportunities to get involved and see what you like.
Overall 4.4
I cannot express how happy I am to have picked MSSU. I didn't hear many things about this school before attending but thought i'd give it a shot anyway and WOW i am so glad i did. I had 9/10 of my professors be amazing at explaining topics that i never thought i'd grasp and making friends i never thought i'd make. I can't recommend MSSU enough.
Bad reviews
Overall 1.2
I have allergies and a few dietary restrictions, which makes it to where I at times cant eat anything on campus for several days in a row without bringing my own food. The dorm housing is awful, and not maintained very well. In one dorm, the Lion Village and the newest dorm as of 2023, I had water leaks through the wall 6 months after it was built
Overall 1.3
I am a transfer student and honestly, this school was little annoying because if I had questions about a certain class, they would direct me to 5 different people. I wasn't able to get a clear answer, because they kept transferring me to different people. They would even transfer me back to the same person. It was very annoying.
Overall 1.4
Very unorganized school, teachers are bottom of the barrel. Advisor is changed every semester and they dont let you enroll in your own classes. Id never send my kid here.
Overall 1.4
it has very little activities. the school is away from anything (cars a necessity here). nobody attends games/sporting events.
Overall 1.6
To come here was One of my worst adult decisions ever.
Overall 1.7
The good it is cheap The bad is the rate and program is bad, and it's difficult
Overall 1.8
The school is okay. The food sucks for what you pay for, and the internet is terrible. There are a few clubs, but not very many crazy zany clubs. Overall It's not bad as far as actual classes go, and it has some good programs. It's just like they try the bare minimum to keep us happy.
Overall 1.9
Prepared to be nickeled and dimed with ridiculous "fees." If they were actually used and added value then it would be understandable. Do not waste your money here.
Overall 1.9
If you want to go to grad. school, then this is not the right university for you.
Overall 2
This school is one I would not recommend to ANYONE. Not helpful, not respectful, not a good school to go to.
