A weakness and a strength: A common complaint is that in Rolla, MO there isn't much to do. Personally, I think that this shows a lack of imagination to find things to do. It's not the place that matters, but the opportunities and people. S&T's greatest strength is being an excellent place to help students grow and become real professionals.

Social life can be better
Overall 4.3
Rolla is a pretty small town if you're not used to it. Make friends, we are all in this together. I wouldn't trade my time here for the world. Best school. SO MUCH BETTER THAN MIZZOU.
Overall 4.3
Very difficult. The professors won't bottle feed you, but there are plenty of resources to do that instead. If you're willing to put the work in, this place is amazing.
Overall 4.2
Great STEM University with small campus and generally small classes. The work is very demanding but worth it. On the other hand unless you hunt, fish, play computer games there really isnt much to do here. After being at a large SEC party school, I felt at home here.

Missouri S&T is for real the most amazing choice I've made in my life. Check it out, for real.

Love it here!

I think a lot of S&T is what you make of it. You have to be willing to get involved and join clubs, make friends, etc. The social things won't be handed to you. Fraternities, Sororities, and other live in campus groups like the Christian Campus Fellowship are the way to go (not really a party school though). Classes are challenging but good.
Overall 4.1
There are plenty of opportunities available, not much to do around town though, and with the exception of greek life and around St. Patrick's Day not much of a social scene, food is good with some good places to eat at like Alex's Pizza.
Bad reviews
Overall 1.2
This place is a nightmare, financial aid is nonexistent and the office is useless, administration is incompetent, the town is a nightmare, the professors are generally terrible, the buildings are old/dumpy, the food is a nightmare on a plate, housing isn't guaranteed but freshmen must live on campus, be prepared to stay in a hotel instead of a dorm
Overall 1.7
Overall, my experience with this school has not been very positive. First the positives, some professors are invested in your success. However there is zero support for online grad students, such as writing centers so I'm mostly teaching myself. Good school if you're an IT, computer science, but not anything else. Will probably transfer elsewhere.
Overall 1.9
Misery University of Sadness and Torment is a "4-year" uni hellbent on churning out socially hampered and minecraft obsessed units into the engineering workforce. The work is demanding, if not oppressive, and the vague promise of a lucrative career is the only motivation to continue. Each morning comes with the mental exhaustion of having a pet die
Overall 2
This school is awful. Professor that speak English as a second language is all too common. If you like sitting in your room and playing video games every day then this is the place for you. If you like socializing with other humans and would like to enjoy life do not go here.
Overall 2
No social life except for greek life. There are no attractive girls here and the classes are made to fail about half the class making this school based purely on studying.
