I went into the Acupuncture program already as an D.C. and I honestly thought it would be a breeze but in a sense, it brought me back to medical school. The education is thorough and most of the faculty continue to practice what they teach.I encourage you to learn more about New York College of Health Professions and visit an open house.

I am currently in the Graduate Oriental medicine program at New York College. With over 8 years of experience in the health care industry, I wanted to educate myself further in holistic medicine. New York College offered various scheduling structures allowing me to attend the courses.

This school is great for anyone who is looking to become a qualified, well-educated health professional. The school offers courses in massage therapy and acupuncture and herbal medicine. It is especially well-suited to students changing careers who might also work and have families, and offers lots of flexibility in classes.

I am a licensed massage therapist and am now studying Acupuncture at the College. I kind of wish I had studied massage therapy here too. Its a lot more organized than my alma mater, which I wont name here. The location (SOHO) is very convenient and so is the class schedule, which is a huge plus for me as I am a mother as well as a full-time mass

The faculty and the level of education make this school better than the others – in my eyes at least. I visited many…I mean MANY schools. But New York College is a non-profit establishment so they are very affordable and they are known for their education. If you are considering going there, you are making the right choice!

I have to say I'm really thankful to the faculty for all of the help they give me, which is a lot. This school offers free tutoring and I took it! I'm one of the several students that is in the massage therapy program straight out of high school so I don't have as much background knowledge as some of my classmates.
Overall 4.3
All of my professors at New York College are fantastic! Many of them work in the field so they are not just teaching us information from a book, but from their experience as well. This adds to my confidence that the information I am retaining will be relevant to my future career as an acupuncturist.

I am currently in the massage therapy program and I love it. I feel that I am being well-prepared for working in the field, which was my initial concern. I’ve heard horrific stories about schools that are disorganized and do not prepare you well for the exams, so I am very happy that that’s not the case with New York College.
Overall 4.2
New York College was a great experience on many levels. Besides making some lifelong friends, I received an education that is far beyond that of my current co-workers. I continue to come back to the College for continuing education courses. If you are considering enrolling in a massage therapy program, I strongly encourage you to look here.

I am taking classes at the Riverside Church on the Upper West Side and besides the fact that it is an inspiring location, the classes are really making me excited. The faculty understands what it takes to be successful in your own practice and working with hospitals and spas and they teach that to the students in addition to the technical material.

The only good thing about this college, I've met some great people.
Overall 1.5
I like the city location better.
Overall 1.6
There are better, and more affordable massage schools in the area. The classrooms are poorly equipped and the staff turnover rate is astoundingly high. Tuition raises every year. Classes are taught from photocopied notepacks. Instructors are unprofessional. Almost all the professors are graduates of NY College - its a knowledge vacuum. Heavy emph

I THINK THIS SCHOOL COULD DO A BETTER JOB!!!
Overall 2
To the ratings that are high it's for the city location not this syosset location.. Don't fall for it. The school is not as great as they make it seem. I would highly look into many different schools before attending this one especially for acupuncture. All the good professors left and the remaining professors are not good!
