Nice school

The students are kind once you get out of your shells- just gotta approach people sometimes! It is harder to get to know people than in grade school obviously, but if you put in some effort I'm sure you will not have problems. The teachers are top-notch- especially in psychology and criminal justice. Nothing but love for my school!
Overall 4.9
Good school. Lot of commuters so it's hard to make friends but if you see the same faces in future courses that's how you end up making friends easily.
Overall 4.9
I love OU, I commute and haven't had a problem in my two years there. Lovely people, professors, and advisors. If I had to pick one thing that I could change it would be more parking spots, but you'll get that with any college campus!

love it here.

I've been at Oakland for 3 years, it's small but it's great. Campus is safe and nice to walk around, and there is usually some event going on that you can go to. While it is a commuter school the on-campus life is fantastic.
Overall 4.7
Oakland University is a great, safe, social, and successful school. As a freshman, I have had a lot of great experiences and I am so glad that this is the school I picked. The campus is beautiful and it is overall an amazing school.
Overall 4.7
I'm fully satisfied with Oakland University; however, its internet and food could be improved.
Don't look at its ranking... It's a great university to get opportunities. OU will have a brilliant future.
Overall 4.5
I love Oakland University! It may not be Ivy standard but the quality of the campus and teachers is amazing. There isn't too much of a social calendar because it's largely a commuter school, but if there's a will, there's a way. Oakland really wants all of its students to be successful and have limited debt. I have ZERO debt because of them!

OU is very much a commuter school at this point. Social life is very limited & campus is quiet. Most people go to class and go home. Dorm life is okay just the food is not so great. Most clubs are left because of lack of people. Tuition is affordable for most people. Parties is not a thing here at OU. There is many resources on campus to help you.
Overall 1.9
This school is very similar to highschool. Its very small, and everyone knows everyone. There arent many places on campus to hangout, it can get pretty boring, but in terms of academics its a pretty good school.

Im a freshman at OU and do not recommend this school. As it’s stated it is a commuter school, so making friends is very hard. The professors and classes are okay, but make sure you double check the schedule the advisor made for you. Half of the time they are having you take classes you do not need for your degree just to get more money out of you
Overall 2
Don't go to this school. It's worth it to spend a little more at a different university. The school of nursing does not communicate with students and just wants our money at the end of the day. I feel I am underprepared for the career I am pursuing even though I have a 3.9. Can't wait to graduate and never look back.
Overall 2
Tries too hard to be a real school. You will not get the college experience here. No one lives on campus, and theres nothing to do. No sports, no parties, no fun. Go somewhere else.
