I have transferred here because I strongly disliked my last school, to be very honest I love this school. Just think of it as like a small party/social school, YOU WILL FIND FRIENDS. This school made me communicate more and learn more about people, the professors are OKAY It really depends on what professor you choose. But overall this school is gd

SUNY Plattsburgh is a real gem. People here are nice, the professor are helpful, and the campus overall is very good. Furthermore there is a great diversity of people so you will definitely find someone with similar interests and values as you

I really like it here! Honestly I have made so many great friends, go partying literally every thursday through sunday, and am very happy. I like the food. Very safe. Campus is pretty.

The campus is very modern! Lots to love here!

I love this school and know that i will not regret going here!
Overall 4.4
Plattsburgh is academically challenging, and the professors push you to be the best version of yourself. I went through the school of business and had a great experience. After leaving, I was able to put my degree and knowledge from Plattsburgh to use right away.

Very friendly campus!

Could not be happier with my Plattsburgh experience. The food is not perfect but there is always something genuinely tasty. They redo one dorm building every year so they're all nice or about to be renovated. SO MUCH FUN HERE. Bars& cute town. There's been some bad news in the media but that is everywhere. Use this website for best grades possible!

If you are going to enroll at SUNY Plattsburgh, major in Journalism. You will find the best professors and opportunities in that area. This school has never made me feel different, it works hard to hear the voice of students. The amount of clubs and social aspects keep everyone busy. Most students who leave here gets a job as well.

Gotta love platts
Bad reviews
Overall 1.2
Unsafe, extremely high crime rate for a tiny city and small university size. See 2018 student arrests and 2017 NBC News: Hundreds of bags of heroin, crack seized in Plattsburgh university student housing area on Champlain street (a few blocks from main campus section).
Overall 1.4
If you are looking to come to SUNY Plattsburgh turn around. Every day I am reminded why I made the wrong decision to come here. Been wanting to transfer since my first week here and I am almost to graduation. Administration is useless, academics are subpar, and the town is lousy. Came here to save some money on school. Worst decision I have made
Overall 1.5
Don't come here unless you want to spend the rest of your life regretting it. The 'clubs' awful, the food awful, it's freezing, and everyone here is immature. Have friends who were successful socially and ones who were academically, both types regret their time here. Think back every day to looking at transferring IN CLASS wish I did. Don't be me.
Overall 1.6
SUNY Plattsburgh is pretty cold dull and ugly. About to graduate in the only online program had like 9 interviews dressed spicey no bites suites who talked to me say quote other candidates were a better fit and from reputable schools. Like what? Do not waste money here. Drove there to get papers saw students burning furniture on sidewalk. Ya true.
Overall 1.6
27 SUNY Plattsburgh students were convicted in 2018 of forcing other students to lay tied up on the floor, stripped naked, urinated on, vomited on, spanked, and gang raped (up the behind - they don't discriminate, women and men of all races get the same). 2 students were killed, on/near campus. It's a nice place to call homo. Check out news media.
Overall 1.6
Students are friendly. Main issue is college is broke, unsafe and has a very bad reputation for local crimes which limits your opportunities for transfer, other degrees and employment. A few same adjuncts teach all major courses, very limited selection. It is very cold and dull. But courses are easy, seniors will give you assignment/test answers.
Overall 1.7
Counseling department is defunked. The faculty do not want to be there and it shows. Unanswered emails, no feedback on assignments, lack of organization. The students pay the price in more ways than one. If you want a satisfying education go somewhere else.
Overall 1.7
Transferring after one semester. 2/10 wouldn't recommend.
Overall 1.8
Could not be happy with my Plattsburgh experience. Nobody pass the CPA exam in the online accounting degree. What is use of such a degree? Courses have no good knowledge just lot of assignments discussing stuff not needed for accounting. SO MUCH VIOLENCE HERE so do not take campus courses. There's been some bad news in the media and it is true.
Overall 1.8
Social life is what makes courses easier here but the reputation and opportunities are dismal so I am currently taking the train back to the city a few days ahead of spring break without plans to return - I will be transferring from SUNY Plattsburgh to another university with better teachers, better weather, better rep, and less drug activity.
