I loved my time at SUNY Potsdam. It is rural but there is a lot to do especially if you are an outdoor enthusiast. They have an amazing Wilderness Education program, and I loved the visual arts program. The professors are amazing and get to know each student well. I made amazing friends here, went to a lot of fun parties, and had a great time.

Amazing School!
Overall 4.6
I love love love this campus, since it is such a small school there are really so many amazing opportunities! I came here from NYC and was unsure how I would feel, but coming here was the best thing I did!

Overall 4.4
I love it here! great job with the pandemic and very great about keeping things real!
Overall 4.3
This school has its problems, but as someone who is very involved on campus, I can tell you that you WILL get where you want if you really apply yourself and get in good with your professors!
Overall 4.3
The campus is beautiful! For the most part, the professors are helpful and care about you. There are lots of opportunities to join clubs, play intramural sports, and go to events. With Crane there, there are alway plays and concerts going on!
Overall 4.3
Great campus and overall atmosphere. Liberal Arts school for sure. Im a business major and came so that I could finish my masters at Clarkson. It's association is great and keeps your overall cost low. Entertain yourself, it is not the high octane pace of a city school so do your work, enjoy the laid back atmosphere and love what you're doing!
Overall 4.2
Perfect place if you are looking for a small school in a small town!

I love it here!
Overall 1.7
I transferred out of Potsdam because it was so terrible. Everyone was so negative and unhelpful. Do not miss it what so ever! (also the food sucks no matter what they say about being #1)
Overall 1.7
Transferred out after Sophomore Year, should have left after the first semester. I only attended because my HS Avg was ~79% and the students seem like they are of that percent range in life. I got mine up and left but should have done it sooner. Great professors, sucky students, horrible location (middle of nowhere/Amish country) and always cold.
Overall 1.8
I went to this college and was looking for another to transfer to in three weeks. This place is a happiness drainer. You need to really visit this campus and think about it before you go.
Overall 1.9
I would suggest another university. If you plan on studying education or the arts you may enjoy it here.
Overall 2
Campus and facilities are either completely broken or definitely on their way to breaking down. Not good for the physically disabled at all, so many stairs and walking and the few elevators seem to be held together with floss at best.
Overall 2
One word for this school: TERRIBLE. This school can't do anything right, and I can say with 100% certainty that I wish I didn't come her. Food isn't good (watch out for the "Lehman Demon") & dorms are disgusting. Staff use there jobs over you and UP is unreliable (mean people, shouldn't be allowed to be cops). Save yourself, don't come to Potsdam.
