Great School !

I have an Associates Degree from SPC and am back completing prerequisite classes for the nursing program. I have loved my time at SPC. You get lectures from an actual masters or doctorate level teachers unlike TTU, where grad students teach the classes. The environment is friendly and your career will advance from your time spent at SPC. Recommend
Overall 4.3
This school is really passionate about their students rather than the money. I have yet to find a teacher or staff member that was rude. The buildings are clean and up to date.

Great School!

I think SPC is a great community college.
I have had mostly positive experiences with my professors. Most of the professors here are very good, and actually want you to succeed.
The advising department I think is the worst issue I’ve had at SPC. I finally switched to planning, finding and registering for my classes all on my own.

Great School, Very friendly and knowledgeable professors ! Good counselors, student deans, finical-aids, admissions,.... they are all doing well in communications.

I attended the ADN/RN program at this school for a semester. The program is a complete joke because of the professors incompetence and lack of back bone to stand up for students to other professors. Each professor grades skills test at their discretion so you could be at liberty to fail. Do not waste your time or money at this joke of a program.

You have to stay on top of everything on your own. Grades dont post correctly advisors do not help set up proper degree plans. Financial aid errors. The list goes on and on. And they just pass the buck!
Overall 1.4
Not a good college to go to if your poor or need financial aid. They only care about the rich kids, and they are extremely rude to anyone else (with the exception of a few professors), even going to the point that when we complain, they threaten to expel us when we've done nothing wrong. I do not recommend this college at all!!!
Overall 1.6
Avoid the ADN Nursing program!! They say they care about you&helping you out at the beginning of the semester&then they do not at all. Will lose more than half of your class before the middle of the semester. They do not mind failing you at the very end of the semester&will try to convince you to come back to take classes you passed and paid for!

It is old, and needs some updates, but overall a very good school. As well as good teachers.
Overall 1.7
The campus itself is very run down and very old. The professors are absolutely amazing though. The small call sizes really do help one to learn. The advisors are also a downside to spc. If planning to transfer to a University you need to contact a university advisor for classes that will actually transfer and qualify for your 4 year degree.
Overall 1.7
Worst place ever. I left after one semester. Classes were good just the atmosphere and town was terrible.
Overall 1.9
Their is only two locations for SPC Lubbock downtown and leveland. South plains college does not help disabled students. They have to do everything on their own. The professors are hit or miss. You will get lazy ones that don't want to help and you get great ones. Their is no public transportation, but Spartan transportation and it is very bad.

This is a good school, and it is affordable. There is a major drawback, DO NOT ATTEND THEIR NURSING PROGRAM! This is the college's dirty little secret. The program likes to brag that they have a 100% pass rate on the NCLEX, and this is true; however, what they don't tell you is that maybe three out of ten make it to the final semester.
