This university was the best of both worlds for me coming form a small farm town. I knew my professors and they knew my first name. If you care and put forth some effort you will do great. They also have some great accreditations on quite a few programs.

For what you're paying, it's a good deal.

This school is honestly amazing! I love the opportunities that Southeast brings me and the amazing people who are always here to help the students!

Simply awesome!! Had beautiful memories.

Here's the things you'll get at semo: Exercise: Ha ha, yes, lots of hill and an amazing free gym! Small Town fun: Go downtown, see the river and the old shops. From ice cream to antiques Nature: The campus is filled with trees and quiet brush areas. You may even see a woodpecker or ground hog. Oh and a great university! Enjoy!

This was a great place to earn a degree. The teachers are AMAZING! Teachers want students to be successful, and lend a hand when necessary. I found almost all of my professors were knowledgeable and ready to help me learn. They treated me like a professional and offered lots of opportunities for me to grow.
Overall 4.5
Semo is a small school that still feels big. The class sizes are great. The campus is hilly but very beautiful, you always get a workout walking anywhere. The food is average, you will get tired of it after eating it all year but it could be worse.

Great place overall!
Overall 4.4
Great school if you go to classes! I use rate my professor to pick all my classes and so far it’s helped! I went to semo in 11-12 and I go online now. I love the online classes so far! When I went in person I loved semo, so many friends and things to do! Just remember put studying before friends!
Overall 4.4
Being a student here has been amazing, I am going on my second year here and I still love it. The location of campus is amazing, its close to downtown but also close enough to the more popular areas so its great. The food is also pretty good if you know where to go and what to get. I highly recommend going here if you are considering it

Go elsewhere. this place is a sad excuse of a school. terrible staff. terrible DPS. expensive.
Overall 1.7
The cost of tuition is cheap, but the price you pay is having bad professors. Don't get me wrong, there are some very good professors as well, but most of them are lazy, don't care about you, and appear to have forgotten most of what they are supposed to be teaching you.
Overall 1.9
Get jumped regularly. This school is right on the border to Illinois and is not very safe, those blue light boxes make it a little better, but do not entirely ensure your safety when you're being chased. Many kidnapping attempts throughout my entire four years that I hear about regularly from female students.
Overall 1.9
The food at SEMO has been steadily declining in quality. Quite literally inedible at some locations and only getting more expensive and worse.
Overall 1.9
Had a horrible time here and ultimately ended up transferring. too many majors are available , and the important ones end up getting their funding cut. If you're coming from a big city don't go here, very boring on the weekends unless you're going to a party or a bar. Small town vibes and mindset. Very nice teachers who are easy to talk to though!
Overall 2
This place is so cliquey, it feels like I spent an extra 3 years in high school. If you didn’t plan to transfer here with friends, you might as well not even try socializing. Bar scene is mid, classes border on being a waste of time, and the job market is so unforgiving you may not get a chance to work. Ultimately, cost is the only positive.
Overall 2
SEMO always preaches how it's a "student-oriented campus" and the "student needs always come first," but why does it consistently make decisions that negatively affect students? Why does it hide the budget when students ask to see it? SEMO is cutting opportunities for students to have the "will to do," and it is so sad to see.
