I think SVU is definitely underrated. After I tell people about my experiences, they are always saying they wish they knew about it before choosing to go to their college.
It's full of incredible people who look out for you and help you grow and be successful. And the academics are incredible—I've never loved learning as much as I do here!!

Great school! You will love it! Just make sure you are involved in the many campus activities and get out of the dorm room and make friends! B/c they are some awesome people there! Awesome campus spirit! Just follow the rules, word hard, smile, and have a blast! It is rigorous work academically, but you can b/c involved in a club or collegiate spor.

SVU is a great small campus that helps their students to succeed at every possible chance.

Honestly, there's not much to complain about. You get exactly what you'd expect coming to an old small town school. If you play a sport or are doing something to stay busy then you'll love it here. If you don't, then you will get a little bored. The facilities aren't bad at all. I love it. The people here are awesome too.

SVU is a great university. I came here from BYUI. It is SO much better. The quality of education you get here is suburb!
Overall 4.3
I have loved attending SVU! It is a small school in a small town, but you are just 3 hours away from Washington DC and the beach, not to mention only 6 hours from NYC. The professors take the time to get to know you and help you, and I have thrived because of the small class sized. Great social activities as well!

A amazing experience! I have loved my time here. The professors are excellent and really care about the students. They are helping me get into a great MBA program, I could not be any happier with the experience. If you want a great liberal arts education in a wonderful L.D.S. environment, Southern Virginia University should be at the top of your li

You can get a great network. You get lots of professors who really care about you, and are super willing to help you outside of class. Registrar is super great and helped me transfer 60+ credits. Profs are super accommodating for work and sports. Lots of student activities, and the other students are nice. 10/10 recommend a car.

This school is a joke. They lure you here with promises of scholarships and how accommodating they are to so many majors. They will not give you anything they promised. They are archaic and unhelpful. There is nothing positive about this school. Do not go. You can't even leave without massive amounts of paperwork.
Overall 1.3
If you ever want to leave, no one with accept their credits. Very expensive. Ridiculously small town. Rejects, trouble-makers, and overly friendly nerds.
Overall 1.5
I spent a semester at SVU and couldn't take it any more. I would not recommend it.
Overall 1.7
It is in the middle of no where. The buildings are old which makes them pretty but the smell of mold makes me literally sick. It is like high school, lots of busy work, have to always be in class. I do not feel like I am learned a single thing. The majors are all a joke, except Biology. Don't waste you time and money. Don't go here!
Overall 1.9
I spent two semesters here in 2016-2017 I had some good times but was more disappointed than anything. It is a very small college with many communication problems and safety problems.
