The greediest overhead I have ever encountered. I severely dislike the management in this school and corrupt practices. I would NOT recommend taking classes here if you're not admitted as a degree-seeking student.
Overall 1.4
middle of long island, need to have a car to get to places. stony brook claims to be a diverse school but it's a PWI. Food is really bad, tacos every day and beans like every day. freshmen are required to be on the unlimited meal plan which is really unfair. students aren't friendly everyone is to themselves. classes are hard and big class sizes.
Overall 1.6
Dont expect a job for the degree you earned.
dont expect help from career center.

I'm glad I will be transferring to another school. This school robbed me of my mental health. All of my time here I've felt miserable. Some professors don't care about students, people are mean and not kind. I tried getting involved in clubs but there seems to be favoritism. Social scene is dead on the weekends. Big commuter school.
Overall 1.8
1. students aren't friendly (everyone sticks to their own group of friends)
2. social life is dead (the weekends are completely lonely)
3. food is bad. (undercooked food)
4. middle of Long Island (nothing to do around here)
5. professors don't care about students (some are good, some are terrible at teaching)
6. classes are hard to get into
Overall 1.8
The atmosphere, the professors and the administration make student feel nothing but the worst about themselves. Everyone that I have spoken to agrees that this school cause people to second guess their lives in every way. I wouldnt recommend this school to my worst enemy, save yourself from the mental torture and go somewhere else. 0/100%

transferred from another UNI due to covid. Nothing good to say and honestly wished I would of dropped out then wasting my last three years of college. Administrators want to be an ivy league so bad but high school kids with 4.0 gpas cant get in but the amount of people I know who had mediocre grades at best @Suffolk CC that get into SBU is a joke.
