Very disappointed. Not really Columbia, but afraid to take away Columbia tag lest they lose students. Teachers College is a completely separate corporate with a few administrative resources shared with Columbia to make students-their clients-feel that they belong to Columbia- when classes are huge and of poor quality. Most feel tricked. Avoid.

Avoid the math education program. Advisors aren't a thing and a do-it-yourself attitude from every office means nothing gets done. Way too expensive and in an unsafe surrounding neighborhood.

I will be finished in May Thank God. This school has been a complete waste of money. I actually want to be a teacher, not a politician influencer, so this school is not for me. I wouldn't choose it again, and don't recommend it. You MUST act like a complete follower of a few key teachers to pass, and you must be all about their publishing efforts.

Studying math ed here. Definitely didn't feel ready to student teach with only a summer course beforehand, and the lack of courses on how to teach makes me feel bad for my kids. Lots of math courses to take though... Campus is away from good food or cool events, but you're in NY. You can just take the subway anywhere anyway. But definitely isolated

What can I say about Teachers College? The association with Columbia is the big ticket. Period. The professors do not care about you at all. You literally will pay an arm and a leg just to put Columbia on your resume. So very disappointed with the lack of personal relationships and toxic positivity. Stay local. Don’t waste your money or time.

The psychology programs to not prepare students to be clinicians who do clinical work and are simply all theory. No concern for linking students to supervised clinical internships or externships. Absolute waste of money. The professors are solely there to get published and anyone considering TC shouldn't.
Overall 2
This school has been a total disappointment. Many absentee faculty and TAs, the financial aid office is abysmal at best, and the courses feel watered down.
