The teachers really care about your education. I came here working full time, had a family, and a part time business. Communicate with your teachers!! They will be your biggest supporters if they know what's going on. They are very knowledgeable, food is great, lots of school spirit, tons of academic activities, alumni support and scholarships.

Excellent university.
Overall 4.7
My experience was excellent because I was not just a student. I was a very involved student who built professional relationships with the faculty and staff. I made sure I knew who was who. I attended many activities and programs that were on campus. I was a student leader. Your experience depends on your level of involvement.

I love Texas Southern University!!! It's a institution that society have stamped a label on due to things that happened in the past. I think that people never get to hear the good things about this school! It's definitely well respected. It's a loving environment with rich culture and a fine history and most of all it's an HBCU

Be careful while attending...

I attended TSU my freshman year of college. TSU's staff is unorganized and very rude. The financial aid process is torture. The school is filled with students who do not deserve to even be in college. Professors are very friendly and approachable, but unfortunately they spend more time battling with terrible students. TSU needs major improvements.

The appearance of the campus and surroundings is horrible.
The campus sits directly in the ghetto/hood.
