Good reviews
Overall 4.7
I learned a lot from this school and made great connection.
Overall 4.6
The New School has a smaller selection of courses and major/minors compared to other schools... but the cool architecture of the school and the down-to-earth professors make it worthwhile.
Overall 4.5
While amazing the price is astronomical. If you're not going to Parsons or CoPA I recommend considering another school. Don't get me wrong the school and the education are great but for the cost there are some majors that don't require you to go to a prestigious institution. If you don't have a lot of money to pay off school think before you enroll
Overall 4.5
The New School is a refuge for creative minds and liberal thinkers. Many professors are part time teacher part time industry professionals, so they are relevant in their field and teach you what's applicable in a real-life context versus solely theoretical. The students are independent and hardworking, but friendly and community-oriented. A+ A+

None.

This has been the perfect college experience for me. Anyone looking for something more creative, progressive, customizable, urban, or close-knit than a standard state school or liberal arts college would fit right in here. If they had the graduate program I was looking for, I would stay in a heartbeat. They're gonna have to drag me out. I love it.
Overall 4.3
Depending on which college you go to, The New School overall offers high quality education with access to design equipment, opportunities in NYC, and some of the most notable professors of each department. There's no campus exactly but the University Center is a great place to hang and work, and it offers high quality foods!
Overall 4.3
I miss the new school. I transfered to a CUNY due to financial aid reasons. Lang was awesome. Mental health wise they are better than Ivy League schools, they have DBT and art therapy for FREE! If you get accepted you are lucky to be attending this gem and I am super jealous since I left.
Overall 4.3
The New School is intended for those who are independently driven. With small class sizes students are able to have their voice heard in the classroom and beyond. It's for someone who enjoys the urban environment and progressive thinking.
Overall 4.2
The New School is great, but I could use a bit more academic support.
Bad reviews
Overall 1.7
Classes are huge despite what the school tries to tell you, true typical class side is about 20. Not academically rigorous at all. Most people to come to Lang because of generous financial aid, Parsons for reputation. Despite the Parsons brand, New School as a whole is virtually unknown in the real world. Go to a better school if you can.
Overall 1.8
The New School is definitely not for everyone. While it's in NYC with a lot of interesting places to visit, the school itself barely makes an effort to help students find internships or jobs, regardless of how hard you try. The administration is perhaps the worst in all of the world. It's absolutely not worth the money to go here.
Overall 2
Great faculty who deserve to be paid fairly for the labor they perform. The administration is a complete disaster. Tuition money all goes to their 6 and 7-figure salaries while faculty have to pick up second and third jobs just to survive.
Overall 2
No one will know what this school is unless you go to parsons. No social life no clubs.
Overall 2
Classes are routinely mislisted, and the descriptions are nearly always inaccurate. Most professors have their own options about things and if you expect to get a good grade you have to pander to them. Opportunities for professional development are severely lacking, and there is little administrative oversight (at least in my department).
