UNC is a great University. I'm an international student and I studied here during the COVID -19 pandemic. The support received during this period was good, they did not discriminate my Non-citizen status and I felt very well. Professors are good mentors and my partners at School were very friendly. I really recommend UNC for International Students.

UNC-CH is definitely one of the best schools in the country. Everyone who gets in is dedicated to learning and wants to be there. The sports, especially this year boosts the mood and makes you feel proud to be a Tar-Heel. My family has gone here for generations and that wouldn't happen if it weren't an amazing place to be.

Very poor bio and chem professors. Most of them can not teach, but will give exam problems based off of their research. Other departments are okay, but extremely poor Biology and Chem professors. It is sad you that no matter how much you study, the exams are totally unrelated.

The chemistry department is terrible. They have a flipped classroom system just to allow for laziness. Professors teach one thing the exam is another. Pretty unbelievable how bad professors can be

You have to be political correct and there is no real freedom speech whatsoever.
It is in a hillbilly town where people think they are cool.
The parking is absolutely horrible!
Don’t follow the social media hyper liberal narrative.
Come and feel the campus and this place if you have chance for summer school or study abroad opportunity.

From an out-of-state perspective, there is absolutely nothing special about UNC. If anything it is much less than you would get at another university for the same price - speaking from experience. Main drawbacks are food, facilities, and workload some professors feel they need to assign.
