I absolutely love UTEP, the students, the staff and faculty, the environment and the people make the experience worth it. Your hard work get recognition. So many leadership opportunities! Volunteerism, internships, networks, whatever you need to succeed! I consider UTEP my home away from home. It is like a big family. Like hearted people everywhere

Bad reviews

I've generally hated every moment of being at this school. Advisors could care less as well as faculty.

I would recommend going to school in Phoenix. The people are much nicer and the academics are easier and more manageable than in El Paso. UTEP is not an easy school, professors are very stingy and strict, and the students for the most part are rude and appallingly crude as well as the professors. Highly recommend to stay away from El Paso too.

Low quality university
Overall 1.3
I attended UTEP for Grad School and I really regret it. The teachers don't take this school seriously. The assignments are short, (1-2 pages double spaced). The lectures and syllabus are just left overs from pervious semesters, and the feedback you do get is rare and usually about two sentences long. 100% acceptance rate for students and teachers.

Hated the entire 4 years. No one cares advisors are terrible

Terrible
Overall 1.6
School and some staff and students could be pretty hostile
Overall 1.7
I have had the worst experience at this school. I am a biochem major. The switch to online classes was handled very poorly and teachers/TAs are, for lack of a better term, incompetent. Class sizes are way too large and the professors do not care about the students. I will be transferring as soon as possible.
Overall 1.8
Student housing is terrible with their maintenance and students that stay over night. Some of their professors grade unfairly and have very difficult courses. You have to really make sure what rating your professor is. I would recommend a different school.

They want to charge the student for everything
