Great, centralized campus

Moved to this school from TNCC, best choice I made, drive totally worth it.
Overall 4.5
Having a great educational and social experience at Tidewater. Teachers really care if the students understand the material and making themselves available. The school makes sure that resources are available and the library is top notched. The library offers plenty of places to study and computers are very accessible.

This school is in a city with a bad reputation but the city doesn't represent the school. The school has its own reputation.

The worst college I have been to! There is no accountability for the students actions. According to their 13% graduation rate(per FASFA) it seems they don't care about quality education their.
Overall 1.4
Awful experience. Would never recommend TCC to anyone interested in applying/attending. From the instructors to the classrooms and labs, everything here is second-rate. Don't waste your time and money here. You get little to nothing out of this "college."
Overall 1.5
The nursing school here is really bad. I started not that long ago and am sorry I applied. Everything including the teachers and classrooms/lab room are poor.
Overall 1.5
The professor are not helpful at all there.
Overall 1.6
In my experience and opinion, the instructors at TCC Portsmouth are vile, ignoble people who do not take pride in how their classes are run and do not provide for student success. The nursing school is a full-on disaster where you can expect to be treated poorly. Equipment is run-down. This college needs a serious overhaul and higher standards.
Overall 1.7
The teaching staff is hit or miss and considering that this is the primary campus for nursing for TCC I expected a lot more out of their Biology dept.
Overall 1.7
I found this campus to be more like high school. The respect towards teachers is AWFUL! The library has become a social gathering hall and game room - those who needed to use the computers for assignments and tests, we unable to use them because so many students were on Facebook or some other social network NOT associated with school. :0(

a let down
Overall 1.9
Finding a good teacher at Tidewater Community College has been hard. They are very few and far between unfortunately. I am a straight A student, but have had classes where I have had to completely teach myself the material and work extremely hard, even in hard science classes such as Anatomy and Physiology. Check all other options first!
