It's great, people say unsafe because they have never seen a homeless person before. In my 5 years attending, there has never been any incident to be worried about. We had a lockdown and the whole school was in panic because someone 5 blocks away was seen with a knife one time... Totally safe school, center of downtown with lots to do/eat.

I decided to do my 2nd degree with TMU because their Creative Industries program felt like it was made for me. I was a bit nervous heading in because at 23, I was a “mature” student according to university standards. Despite this, my experience was amazing! I made so many great friends & countless memories. Definitely recommend this school

Ryerson is an amazing university. It has some really great and well known programs that have created a reputation for themselves internationally. Good places to study, hangout with friends, and lots of food options. Of course it's in a prime location so that's always a bonus.

Heart of downtown, want food? EATON centre 2 minute walk. Professors are extremely friendly and everyone has the opportunity to get an A+ with proper devotion. Location is convenient. The safety around MAC is questionable but there aren’t too many classes there anyways. People are quite friendly and approachable but you MUST make the first move.

High school graduates, don't go to this university- its not worth it. .

They don't care about your safety, They'll take your money if you don't drop the course 5 days before class, even if you haven't step foot in the class. Course you do need isn't offered and they wont let you take the course at a different university. All and all- worst !

I’m super grateful for having the ability to attend post secondary but this school.. they charge an extra (at least) $300-500 a semester for random fees like sports and health and wellness???? Not to mention I did an arts program during Covid and the pandemic which was virtually impossible and had to teach everything myself.

This is the worst university in Ontario! Run away while you still can! I suggest going to York University.
Overall 1.3
The university has no regard for their students. Most professors I have had just lecture slides they have bought from another professor (usually from University of Toronto) sometimes not even having read them in advance.
Overall 1.6
Not a very safe school. Not very social, not much opportunity and quite honestly, should be your last choice. It's a school to just get your degree and get out. Don't expect much more.
Overall 1.7
More bad professors than any school in the area. Being in toronto, the campus is full of tourists and addicts. Get ready to be pestered day and night with emails about 'diversity and social justice'. Also not as social as the other universities. Avoid this school like the plague, everyone seems genuinely miserable here.

Really bad school
Overall 1.8
Don't go there. Pros: accredited engineering program + I got a related job a year after graduating. Cons: People constantly talked distractingly loudly *everywhere* (e.g. during class, on dedicated library quiet floors, etc). Customer service = often poor. Punished known cheaters = never. Teaching quality = often poor (e.g. reading from slides).
Overall 1.9
The location of the university is inviting to the homeless population and causes significant safety issues to all.
The greatest issue is how much of the faculty is in a situation where English is not their principle language, making communication very difficult. If you're looking for a bloated/incompetent administration, this is the place to be.
