Transylvania University is a tight-knit, largely bias-free community with top-notch professors, whose primary focus is on teaching their students, rather than publishing and other interests. They genuinely care that you learn and grow. You will form lifelong memories with friends and mentors as you get a world-class education.

Great school with a lot of great opportunities to succeed. Transy being so small is definitely one of its biggest assets -- the relationships you get to form with profs are so valuable.
Overall 4.3
A brilliant place full of brilliant people. A life-changing, perspective-altering experience to be able to go somewhere where my professors simultaneously challenge my every conception and care deeply about my development. 10/10, would recommend.

Transylvania University --- What can I say? It's amazing.
Overall 4.2
Transy is so special because of the opportunity to have such one-on-one relationships with your professors (first name basis), as well as the opportunity to do "big school" things at UK, or just in Lexington in general. Lex is an extremely fun city with many things to do and a lot of nightlife. It truly has a perfect balance.
Overall 4.2
Transylvania is an incredible educational institution but it's not for everyone. You have to be willing to take charge and make the most of every opportunity Transy can afford you. The highlight for me is the incredible faculty. The focus here is our education but there are more than enough chances to get involved on and off campus.
Overall 4.2
The tight-knit community and outstanding academics of Transylvania University make for an unforgettable four years.

Mold in forrer hall, and the university ignores it. Caused major heath problems for me causing me threat to swell i can hardly breath. The parties are non-exsistant, it is a suitcase college (although they tell you it is not) everyone leaves on the weekends. The food is terrible. Social life is pathetic. I know too many people transferring.

Mold in the dorms. I transferred schools.

Please don't make the same mistake that I did. This place is like going to a highschool in that the average student isn't that mature and many professors seem to have a low bar of expectations. On top of that, Transy is expensive and you have to pay for something new at every turn just for a degree with little pull outside of Kentucky.
Overall 1.8
Transy has it's benefits, but lately it seems to have been focusing it's energies in the wrong areas. If you're looking to do anything in the science department, good luck. There's hardly any equipment to work with, they put a lot of effort into a new lab that wasn't particularly necessary, there's still machinery that's old and out dated.
Overall 1.9
They recruit really well making the school seem like its a perfect fit for u. Once you get there, you'll be thinking the opposite. It's just a money hungry school that offers degrees that are just as good compared to any other school. They might be a recognizable school in Kentucky but if you move out of the state no one knows it Good luck Charlie

Want to go to high school all over again? This school is your chance. There's under 900 students, which is incredibly small, so every one knows every one & everything. The professors seem to baby you like in high school. If you want a great GPA for grad school I would recommend a state school. And if you don't want to be in debt for yrs, stay away.
